yeah we should keep demanding this, and then be prepared to settle for only treating the output of chatbots as official company communications, with the same consequences as if a human customer service representative had helped plan a massacre by following the employee handbook
like so much AI use this seems to be coming from a lack of confidence… don’t think you’re communicating well? have AI write your emails! afraid of developing your own style? have AI assemble references for you!
Saturday Night Live is neither all good nor all bad, no period of the show has ever been an absolute home run or a total failure, it’s the sum of thousands of people’s work, by its nature ebbing and flowing in quality, often very subjective
This is one of the best snl sketches i’ve seen in a while
we’re excited to announce the golden calf from hit book exodus 32.7
just remembered that you can have third-party keyboards now and UniChar™ seems like an okay solution apps.apple.com/gb/app/unich...
reminds me of a pet peeve: the fact that you can’t type a non-emoji “™” symbol (U+2122) on an iphone because it puts the emoji selector (U+FE0F) on it and doesn’t let you change it…
just add the basic variant to the long-press menu in the emoji selector like for diacritics in the keyboard :(

you’d think all of these things would have a reasonable “fail-open” state and that standards would require those…
no amount of signs stops people on our estate from using the playground (that is also used by a nursery) as a dog toilet because they can’t be bothered to cross the road to the nature park 50 metres away

and then you get to pay a similar amount again a bit later for citizenship
a drawing of a human like shape sticking out of a wall saying "well, I guess the landlord just didn't notice that I hadn't moved out. Painted right over me. I don't know if I still have to pay rent though."

That’s not even true?! There’s a handful of specialist clinics at university hospitals but none do unscheduled walk-ins, or instant diagnosis www.zentrales-adhs-netz.de/spezialambul...
There also seems to be this sort of misunderstanding that "redemption" = "rise to the former heights/privileges you had before" instead of "redemption = being a better person"
They don't mean a "path to redemption" they mean a "path to reinstatement"

i sort of thought that was already known, couldn’t word2vec do things like “love + guy = boyfriend” etc? seems generally like a good area of research though, getting direct parameters instead of indirectly setting a state in the model with the prompt
sort of makes sense if you see it as a hybrid of oral and written tradition, why spend a lot of time writing down details of the interesting bits that people like to expand on using their imagination anyway?
a safe job until robotics advances enough to not break the table or miss the document when slamming down a rubber stamp
“look I just got into The Laundry Files, and there’s this really fun recurring bit with the Human Resources, and I’m thinking, why not give that a whirl”
