my sense is also that they don’t have the slightest idea who they are with all the turnover. definitely not all that good (especially mental make-up). the setting the organization back yrs part also seems to rest on Lindor’s value moving fwd. i’m quite fond of him but feel it’s time to move on.

What’s the diagnosis tho? The roster AND coaching staff was overhauled on a team that had already “underperformed” so the number of possible factors here is multiple. They went from disappointing to wretched.

It’s obvious they can win the series. It’s also obvious their mental fortitude is on skates and they can’t assert their will as a group like a championship team does throughout a playoff run. It’s classic sinking feeling basketball.

Why couldn’t they get KAT the ball?

Brunson played hero ball and his shrinking violet castmates just stood around and watched. So easy to beat that “strategy.”

In assessing Stearns, are you clear on how much he had to clean up issues under Eppler or other past GMs? Tbh I’m not entirely.

Farm was weak and now seems better. Pitching dev seems stronger? What about coaching across the minors and majors? Free agency is a mixed bag at best.
