Packed house for the kickoff at #ISEH2025 🏯 this morning! We are excited to have you all join us here in Kumamoto.
Huge congratulations to Marine Sechi for leading the work, which was a joint effort with the Lo Celso lab. Many thanks to all our other collaborators for their contributions and support. @imperialimmuno.bsky.social @imperialcollegeldn.bsky.social
While in homeostasis Hoxb5+Vwf+ HSCs are not found in closer proximity to megakaryocytes, high megakaryopoiesis dynamics following platelet depletion leads to increased proximity to megakaryocytes, revealing previously unrecognized niche dynamics in HSC regulation during regeneration.
Intravital microscopy showed that Hoxb5+Vwf+ HSCs have a non-migratory behaviour in all situations investigated and independently of the proliferative state of HSCs.
Co-expression of Hoxb5-mKO2 and Vwf-GFP alone defines a population of cells highly enriched for hematopoietic stem cells. This double reporter strategy is stable in homeostasis, stress and ageing.

New Preprint 🚨. Our latest work is now available in biorXiv: A new double reporter strategy reveals a subset of non-migratory hematopoietic stem cells localized in a dynamic bone marrow niche. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
We are back @ExRdFestival today! Test your pipetting skills (in our custom lab coats!), learn about #SickleCell with our quiz, see real blood cells through a microscope, or craft a message for #SCDwarriors at our art table: www.imperial.ac.uk/immunology-i...
