Couldn't use the 25 to 15mm adapter I wanted to use as it needed copper/brass insert which complicated things a bit but I worked around it.
Managed to do some basic pipe soldering too which was actually quite fun.
The house is now running on unleaded! π₯³

I've worked with lead for decades so any damage is likely already done but no point adding to it.
It's been tested and is 'okay' but it sticks up out of the loo floor like a handbrake and it'd be too sketchy to move it.
Quite looking forward to salvaging the lead though. π€
New water main day! The plan is to replace the lead pipe with some 25mm mdpe.
The lads are here, will mole the new pipe in and I'll connect it to the house supply myself.
It should be straightforward. In theory anyway. π€
I also got the lathe up and running and gave it a clean and grease.
I used it to make a nicer cover for the soakaway then stowed it under the drawers in the hench bench.
(I also made drawers for the hench bench) βΊοΈ
Well this has been a successful weekend. Got everything prepped for the new water main connection and set up the Laser-Goose. βΊοΈ
Prepping for lead water mains pipe replacement on Monday and got the floor up in the loo.
Aside from the millionty thousand staples holding the hardboard down, it all went well.
One nice thing was finding a single scrap of newspaper that reads 'hope good owners' downwards.
Me try best good. π₯Ή
Thanks! Not exactly purring like a kitten but close enough. Ideally, when the house is done, it'll need a motor bearing replacement but that's way in the future. π

Replaced the whole loom, added new strain relief glands, regreased the bearings and trued it up with a 3d printed clip on the blade.
It's as good as it's going to get so it can sit under the bench until I need it. βΊοΈ
It came up nice, mainly to do with the protective layer of filth. βΊοΈ
Yeah, so rough! π I've been mistreating it for a decade so it's about time it got a decent once over.
It needed more than a wipe... π
Bypassed the loom and wired the motor directly.
It's a runner, sounds rough as toast but the motor works. π₯³
I'll pull it apart and give it a wipe before I do anything else.
If it helps, there's a mail rule I set up wherever I end up - I create a folder called "To Me Only" and any mail that's sent only, and specifically to me goes to that folder. I'll deal with that folder first when I come back from a break/first thing in the morning. π
My metal bandsaw is rather poorly. It'll give a kick and then blow the no volt release switch.
The starting cap checks out so it might be something in the loom. Motor resistance is fine and spins freely. Hmmm... π€
Woke up early, and hit the workshop. That lighting really is a mood. βΊοΈ
So far I've refurbed the bathroom tap valves, added a shelf in the wardrobe with a 3d printer bracket and replaced the cistern cut off valve with a high flow version.
It's lovely having access to tools again! π₯Ή
Silliness aside, it provides exactly the amount of light in all the right places. The main lights are switchable and positioned so that I can highlight a bench at a time. βΊοΈ
What an absolutely ludicrous display. π

This is... Acceptable...
I'll take some proper video when it gets dark. βΊοΈ
I'm going to put them on the outside of the 'Nifty Lifty' frame. It's a straight run front to back and I'm running two in parallel.
They're flying up thanks to a rather handy clip system. I think I might be able to get it all done tonight. π€
The workshop lights are great but a little too bright when they're all on so I need some filler lighting. I have a soldering iron, some parts and a sort of plan. π€
It depends what you're into... Seriously though, that's not a seat, it's my redneck portable jack/stand. It's come in surprisingly useful, just not as a seat. π
I live for danger. π
Workshop before and after.
I'll need to stand up tools as I need them and I haven't fully decided where power should go but it's easily usable enough to start work on the house. π₯³
Under bench BOHSOWs made and they're pretty sturdy. An 18mm MDF base with six wheels per box should hold most things.
I used gravel board because it's cheap and pre treated, it's not pretty but it works. π
Got a reasonably space efficient plan for a couple of the benches/storage.
(BOHSOW stands for Box Of Heavy Sh*t On Wheels)
I'll need to figure out how to make 8 sturdy crates/drawers then get my carpentry on (such as it is.) π
I am also in East Sussex and saw no snow. I didn't realise it was an April Fools joke as I was too consumed by jealousy. π
Popped the final bit of hardboard up on the ceiling along with the fan.
It just needs some coats of paint and fettling but it's very definitely functional. π
