yes there's absolutely a connection, but it's not deep or subconscious. I have bad poops, i have bad/embarrassing associations with my butthole, people putting things in my butt feels associated with my bad poops. i think if i didnt have ibs i'd prob like anal sex.

"They really focused on the part where I was saying that Black men catcall more and not the part where I was like, 'Hey, maybe we should question our conceptions of catcalling itself.' And maybe there is a racist component to that. How much of this is just people being afraid of Black men?"

Nature being shitty is not force. You dying from hunger unless someone else labors to feed you is not exploitation. You are not entitled to someone else's labor. That's slavery.

And like, other people owe you nothing. You are not entitled to their labor or property. The default state of humanity is without food or medicine, these things do not spawn for you with zero effort.
So you can engage in consensual trade with people, with consensual defined as nobody is forcing you

Exploitation is not a super precise word.
I view bad things as when 'force is used to prevent people from taking actions (excluding force against others) to better themselves', with force being like, variants on literal violence or threats backed up by it.

and now we live in incredible houses with transparent squares that let in light, and energy that pours out of the walls and water that washes away your shit. This luxury is not a static resource, it was something that emerged, over time, from trade with each other. Prosperity isn't zero sum!

I think wealth is good. Industry and trade has lifted so much of the globe out of poverty, and will continue to do so if it's not stifled. Sustainable luxury is created, not stolen! Thousands of years ago we lived in mud huts!

I'm glad, as a kid, I was exposed to education about economics and an understanding of what living standards were in centuries past. If I'd instead been comparing my life to people with more money than us, I would have maybe been angry, or viewed prosperity as something stolen instead of shared.

You would not think my childhood home was prosperous by today's standards. My family sometimes were stuck between paying for food or gas; I remember one Christmas my mom put lights on a potted plant because we couldn't afford a tree (~$30 at the time).

I'd learned about basic economics - supply and demand, and surplus value, and gains from trade, and it was exceedingly obvious that these things were what allowed me to enjoy such prosperity.

As a kid, I read history stories of people who survived famines, or died from yellow fever, or celebrated being able to eat something with sugar at Christmas. I felt so grateful for the prosperity I had - a warm bed at night, sweets, medicine. 1/

e.g. the bdsm vs vanilla divide is big and bimodal and very very strong, particularly among women.
I also suspect there's a similar thing around mate guarding spectrum in males - is it hot or not hot when a woman fucks anything that moves?

im increasingly coming to believe that there's different spectrums in sexual desire that are just as defining, deep, and unmalleable as being gay or straight

this is why i don't include consent forms. If I actually need someone to consent to something real then I'll just include a single line - "Is it ok if I do x with the data?" yes/no
