DR75505 passing through Seaham station this morning. In hindsight I should have been on platform 2 rather than 1 to get a better photograph.

I don't often get to see freight as they get cancelled, don't run to time or I'm working when they pass through my favourite location, last weekend though I was in luck and managed to get a couple of photographs of the 66601. Hopefully I'll get similar luck this weekend. #trains #trainspotting

I finally got one - A Penny Black. So pleased I'm now able to add it to my collection. I could not justify paying the average cost for one and whilst this one is not in the greatest condition, I only paid £9.54 - very happy! #stampoftheday #stampcollecting #philately #stamps #postage

Not a stamp of the day but one of the many medallion/coin souvenirs from the 1924 British Empire Exhibition, why have I collected it? because the British Empire Exhibition stamps were the first GB commemorative stamps. #stamps #philately

Saw the 800111 Newcastle to Peterborough at Seaham station this morning with Max the trainspotting dog. Max belonged to an elderly neighbour who, before she passed away asked us to take care of her beloved dog. #trains #trainspotting #azuma #rail #railway

Another mini sheet for my UFO stamp collection, released Maldives 1992 detailing Kenneth Arnold's sighting of 9 craft flying over Washington State. He described them as "flying saucers" and the term caught on. #stampoftheday #stampcollecting #philately #stamps #ufo #area51 #uap

Last time I was at Newcastle was to see the Flying Scotsman, however gave up after a few hours as it was going to arrive very late. I should visit more often as I'm Seaham and a quick journey.

Ansel Adams work and use of Black and White inspires much of my work (along with Akan Parr) as I prefer to work in B&W.. I've never had an eye for andscape but my street photography is definitely inspired by him and in my view (and many others) he one of the greatest photographers of all time.

More UFO stamps for my collection, this is my second purchase on the subject from Tanzania 1999 depicting pictures of alleged UFO's seen over the years. I've yet to discover if there was a specific reason for these stamps to be released. #stampoftheday #stampcollecting #philately #stamps
