#LUS; lung sliding can be seen, i.e. no pneumothorax at this site. Normal lung artifacts can be seen on the right. Subpleural consolidation can be seen on the left. In this case a pneumonic infiltrate.

A little gem from @bmj.com- Matthew Limb interviews statisticians Adrian Barnett and @nicolewhite.bsky.social about their finding that spelling errors in publications are increasing over time.

The CDC and WHO report a 20% increase in measles cases last year, driven by decreases in vaccination.

This equated to 107,500 DEATHS, mostly in young children.

This, in a PREVENTABLE disease.

Can only imagine what that number will be if we get rid of all mandates.

Annual morbidity in the 20th century, before and after vaccines:

Measles:
Before: 530,000, After: 47

Mumps:
Before: 160,000, After: 429

Rubella:
Before: 50,000, After: 3

Diphtheria:
Before: 20,000, After: 2

Smallpox:
Before: 30,000, After: 0

Polio:
Before: 16,000, After: 0

I’m glad someone else has thought this too, not just my own OCD! As a peer reviewer the spelling & grammatical errors in papers submitted for publication is surprisingly bad 😳
