Absolutely loving this book. Although I had a small existential crisis when I realised that the original NES Mario Bros and Mario 64 were released only 11 years apart. Truly what a time to be growing up around video games.

It is intended as an open text.
Readable in multiple ways. Again something somewhat rare in musical theatre. I'm thrilled audiences get to see it.

Proud of the profoundly talented cast. With more threats between them than any I've encountered before.

I'm proud of the writers who collaborated in a new way. Fusing their minds to create something none of us could have made alone.
Proud of the design team who created a stunning 400 year old apartment in New Diorama and managed to invent time travel.

Tonight is press night of Precipice (Pressipice). @timelapsetheatre.bsky.social

It's both a bold formal experiment in musical theatre writing process and a rare step into speculative fiction for musical theatre. I'm extraordinarily proud of it.

A huge thank you to those who have donated to my new company's crowdfunder.

We are still quite a way from reaching our hoped target so if you are able or willing to support our endeavours I would be so grateful.

We are making some really cool and unique stuff and every contribution helps.

😂 not sure you need convincing but I’m excited to know what you think of my arguments.

But if you have something to spare. If you think musical theatre in the UK is important and occasionally undervalued. If you have enjoyed the work I have done in and for the form before. If you want to see shows developed that frankly no one else is developing. Then I would be hugely grateful.

Asking for help is always slightly embarrassing. And I know everyone is stretched at the moment so please don’t worry if you read this and think: no thank you I don’t want to do that.

So if you felt able to contribute to our crowdfunder I would be so grateful. Even a small contribution will help us get to our target.

Since my diagnosis a lot of people have asked how they can help at this difficult time. And my answer is: by supporting my desire to work and giving me something to look forward to.

In order to kick things off in the best way possible we are trying to raise some money. To give us some runway, allow us the ability to commission some writers, to bolster our education offer, and to ensure our first show is as well made and well shared as possible.

Though only just beginning, we have been commissioned by the prestigious New Diorama Theatre (originating home of Operation Mincemeat) to make a new show there later this year. We also have a number of other exciting projects in development.

Timelapse (@timelapsethtr) draws together a lot of my specialisms and interests: science, technology, musical theatre. It looks to give me space to make innovative, thought provoking work that can really push the boundaries of the form.

As you may or may not know my cancer came back in 2023. And it has been a challenging time both physically and mentally. But I’m trying my best to keep pushing on and to try and turn some of the lemons into lemonade. One of the key things I’ve been doing is founding a theatre company.

Hey. It’s weird to post on here asking for a favour. But I need a favour. So if you like me or like theatre or both, then have a read of this thread.

London Road is still one of the most extraordinary shows ever made and the fact it’s back onstage is so special. You have just over a week to catch it @nationaltheatre.org.uk so do whatever you can to get there.

Why can’t it always be the summer when I was 15 when everyone is just home and wants to play video games?
