I thought that Trump hired people because of their charisma and looks—so, for the life of me, I can’t figure out why he hired the dude who looks like a diseased Muppet.

New poll shows the Sermon on the Mount boosted Jesus with college-educated Judeans but cost him ground with tax collectors — a demographic Democrats cannot afford to lose.
How do I explain to younger generations the hot mess that was Galactica 1980?
In FY 2024 alone you voted in favor of over $120 billion in foreign aid to countries other than Israel.
So, please stop using that MAGA, America First bullshit rhetoric which claims you only support financial assistance for Americans.

I despise Trump. All the more reason we need to say more about the others who are suffering because of his administration’s policies.
It’s possible to oppose more than one genocide at a time. In fact, mobilizing people for a mass human rights movement is a crucial resource for widespread social change.
BTW — The proper response should be, “Yes, we ALL need to do more to help those who are suffering but aren’t being noticed.”
That is, unless you prefer to instead list the many rationales for why the suffering of people in some countries merits less immediate help than others.
During the election season, Amnesty International reported the U.S. was operating a gulag in Syria, where 30,000 children were being held.
Jill Stein. The Uncommitted delegates. Campus organizers. 700,000 protest voters. All silent. A movement built on the urgency of US complicity said nothing.
We were selling weapons to Saudi Arabia that were being used daily against civilians. We’ve been buying goods in real time made with Uyghur slave labor, as Uyghur activists pleaded with the U.S. to do more and help Uyghur refugees.
Good, but I’m asking about activism. Protests? Boycotts? Divestment? Protesting candidates? Most human rights activists barely do anything other than namedrop Yemen, China, Syria, and Sudan (while singing songs praising the Houthis). Don’t be so quick to point fingers at the inaction of others.
“Release That Witch” isn’t getting as much attention as it should—especially if you enjoy Isekai anime with a healthy dose of Machiavellian intrigue.
Even now they completely ignore UAE and China’s complicity in Sudan. But, I guess Sudan didn’t get as much attention on Instagram and TikTok.
I’m deeply impressed that activists discovered human right issues in the Middle East after largely ignoring U.S. complicity in the Yemen civil war and the Syrian civil war for a decade.
