They somehow can keep a mediocre hand and still be threatening. There always seems to be a player in the pod who keeps a greedy hand in case Ral whiffs only to lose before they can take advantage of what they thought they could play.

I went to an LGS out of my way for a trade only to realize their weekly commander event was about to start. I got to play couple rounds of casual with a new crowd and I even got some cedh reps in with the new brew.
My sister owns a place in St-Adolphe d’Howard and we grew up doing winter sports in that area (Mont-Tremblant & Saint Sauveur). One of the best places to enjoy the great outdoors in my opinion.

If I remember correctly, each player kept 3 packs (one collector booster plus 2 commander pack masters/legends or mix) with 3 pick 2 pass packs.
They used this format at @laughingdragonmtg.bsky.social Tacoma couple years ago for players 🆚 content creators and it was so much fun.

At my last F2F event, they put bracket 1&2 together and 3s with 4s. Some players were bummed because stompers are notorious for abusing of that range of inclusivity.
