Low traffic levels are a win for everyone. Frees up the roads for people who have no option but use a car, and helps those who would like to use the bus, walk, or cycle, or a mix of these.

Sick of the bus being stuck in traffic? 🚌 Reducing car use clears the way for more reliable, frequent public transport.
Use our guides to ask local candidates how they’ll get your community moving:

Bike hangars are brilliant because lack of secure storage is an obstacle to getting more people cycling more often.

Yes, research from the IPPR found that the average UK household spends £87 a week on transport, this rises to £108 if they own a car.
And transport spending is regressive: the poorest fifth of households spend 18% of their income on transport, compared to 11% on average, and 9% for the richest.
Thanks for sharing it 🙂
Transport is a huge household expense. 📉 By making walking, cycling, and public transport safer and easier, we can lower the cost of travel for everyone.
See how to advocate for cheaper, fairer travel options:

We’ve joined forces across civil society & have written a joint letter to the HM Treasury advising urgent tax reform on the UK’s heaviest, most polluting cars.
We’re calling for change: a straightforward large vehicle levy, that would raise nearly £2bn for vital public investment.
