I think most of all I love that flames that came before jim and merril passed through them to me and my friends and on to others who will make their own things unknowingly inspired by jim and merrils work and quiet social work keeping teens out of trouble.
shout out to jim ward whose memorial quietly passed on the IGF screen the same night we won our award, his work was a great inspiration to me, and I wish I had got to meet him while he was still around, but I hope I carry some of his falme with me through his work
shout out to the librarian merrill at west regional library who was many of our first dungeon masters as kids, running brutal oldschool 1st edition D&D games for local teens in the quiet florida evenings.
It's so fulfilling to share that legacy with the world.

As someone who has gone through "onboarding" at a Valnet website, it is 100% believable that this person has never even been told what an "embargo" is and the difference between that and a "deadline".
This happening at a Valnet owned site is proof that games media cannot continue to exist with 0 mentorship, editorial oversight, general education for new writers.
No writer assigned a review should not understand what an "embargo" is and how to uphold it.
This is just as much on their editor.
Gee, you could try paying folks what they're worth in order to encourage them to do the work, especially as folks become more & more aware of the value of their labor.
