Hi Christina! My debut, THE DEVIL KNOWS HER NAME, comes out August 25 with Berkley — folk horror with Faustian bargains, female rage, and a fucked-up fawn. www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/804663...
A medusa in gold jewelry with gold rattlesnakes for hair, clutching the stone head of a king and breaking it to pieces while making intense eye contact with the viewer.
just, painting my current vibes, like one does 🐍
Shamelessly pitching this to my SFF book club for November.

This kind of slimy, unprincipled cowardice is beyond pitiful. Don't offend the Nazis! You might lose a few sales!
in case your company uses Google Workspace and is despairing at how Gemini A.I. is getting pushed into everything—fear not! Slate's indefatigable IT chief embarked on a successful journey to get it removed from our end and wrote a detailed guide for the curious: slate.com/technology/2...
“Imagine a world in which an A.I. can analyze your reading patterns and alert you that you’re about to read and article and there’s a 93 percent chance you’ll tell the author to fuck off..."
God, I cannot WAIT for this.

hello friends! my colleague, the brilliant Lorna Hemingway, is on the hunt for new projects! she represents everything in the children's space from board books to YA and is specifically looking for:
- contemporary romance
- coming of age (especially BIPOC)
- gorgeous, punchy graphic novels

WELL I finally finished this, and I just have to say
In November, we (PodCastle) ran a month of Palestinian stories, and honestly I think it is the single best month of stories we've ever run, and you should listen to it on those grounds alone.
But I also spent a lot of time on those outros, and meant to write more about them at the time, but: busy.

@samkhorton.bsky.social's deliciously dark folkloric tale GORSE was many readers' favourite book of the year. In 1700s Cornwall changeling Nancy Bligh fought to keep the balance, but now her dreams are haunted with strange visions...

Eeeyyyyy Liverpool! Less so for me personally, but that's the family team haha.
Jeff gets loose in an amusement park, Wambsgans tells Greg to handle it, hijinks ensue, a child is permanently disfigured by a collapsing Dippin Dots stand.
"I just want the cookie recipe, I don't want to read about how your grandma made them for your grandpa in the war!"
STOP. Just stop. This complaint is five years old. There's a "jump to recipe" button RIGHT THERE. We all know it. You're embarrassing yourself.

You might be cool, but you’ll never be Cloud Strife fighting a collapsing building with two swords kinda cool.
Okay, glad I'm not the only one who feels that way about Threads — every time I went on it was just a different woman saying, "I went to the grocery store and I had a Bad Time™, here's the entire story starting with when I woke up."
Just realized that it's around the anniversary of my holiday horror story "The Sounds of Reindeer," published in @reactorsff.bsky.social.

What really boils my piss about generative AI is that they are proven to intensify racist and sexist bias with terrible outcomes already being recorded (do your own homework) but white people step over that without comment because it summarises an email and reproduces stolen images for them.
