Most definitely. The kids love it, so odds are pretty good we’ll be back

Wrapped up our NYC trip with a Mets game, courtesy of cousins. I haven’t been to Shea stadium since I was 12ish. Nice to know some things haven’t changed (the Mets managed to blow it)
Ahh. Yeah, this was Brooklyn.
(I did not even think to do the math on this and realize we were possibly in the same area until way too late 🤦♂️)
Ahhh. Maybe? Are there a lot of Hasidic Jews in your area ?
Vibes. Sorry you’re dealing with that
Go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line.
Today's activity was a tour of Crown Heights with a Hassidic tour guide, and it was pretty cool.
My kids (11 and 14) both really enjoyed it. Probably helped that we did a tour about a Jewish family. And got pickles.
i don't think it's a spicy take to say that if you expect jewish communities to sever any physical or emotional connection to israel to prove their loyalty to your country then your views simply are definitionally incompatible with the existence of jewish communities as such
Ah yes, the Marathon, named for the battle where a runner ran 26.2 miles to announce the British were coming.
Trying to keep a pair of small children entertained without social interaction is a recipe for disaster.
I was finishing law school/prepping for the bar while trying to take care of two very young children, and with a partner who is an essential worker. I nearly lost my goddamn mind.
…I’m gonna go with worse.
And you can put back the CLEs unless they’re gonna cost you your license
The tenement museum on the lower east side is absolutely amazing. Fascinating place, great tour. I’ll probably post about more later when I’m not completely cooked.
That’s too much. Put some back.
This feels targeted at the legal profession
Yeah, no question. I’m not endorsing him or anything.
I will follow up and say that this is apparently an old video, and the actual quote is apparently not as awful as transcribed.
Well, this adds some important context.
I genuinely know nothing about Hell's Kitchen, but so far, it seems pretty cool. I was, however, lied to by my Daredevil comics.
(Which is probably for the best, because a family of four in DD's Hell's Kitchen is asking to get murdered by Bullseye during a crossfire or something)
(she knew we were doing this, but it was also very much the tone of "you are fucking cooked man, go home")
(She was not wrong)
Visiting NYC for a few days to kick off the kid's April break. Saw the Lion King last night. Doing the Tenement museum today. We're staying in Hell's Kitchen, but no devil's spotted so far.
Given that the week ended with my boss telling me that I needed to go take a vacation, this is good timing
Close seconds include
Burns: Use an open faced club! A sand wedge!
Homer: Mmm. Open faced club sandwich.
AND
Sideshow Bob: Attempted murder? Now really, what is that? Do they give Nobel prizes for 'attempted chemistry.'?
It's hard to pick just one, but I'll go with my usual answer for these kinds of things
Marge: Come on Homer, Japan will be fun! You liked Rashamon.
Homer: Hmph. That's not how I remember it.
I hope she's retiring from the Senate when her term is up. Or that someone who doesn't ally themselves with Nazis out of convenience primaries her.
I'm not a scholar either, but I feel like the Torah is one of those texts where, if you dig around it, you can find almost anything that supports your position.
This is still a fucking ghoulish thing to say, @schumer.senate.gov.
out there, if you needed.
(You could just jump straight into Shadow Lord, but there's a lot of missing context, I think)
Fair. I watched Rebels first, then went back to Clone Wars, mostly at the insistence of my son (who was plowing through them at the time) and one friend (who assured me that it really does get better after the first season, which is awful). I'm sure there's a cherry picked list you could go through
Real "I'm not mad, I'm disappointed" energy.
