If you walk past a newsstand in New York, that’s exactly what it is, except the guy who works at the stand doesn’t have to listen to you whining

I’m excited the bald eagle is officially the national bird after decades of under recognition
Trump accidentally uses scare quotes correctly for some future pseudo deal.
Trump's use of the first person singular in posts like these illustrates clearly how he is different from any other president...and from anyone you want to be president.
the most important of Trump era fights
I mean, what else is he going to say?
Its kinda crazy how dumb many of the CEOs of big companies are
kash about to find out the reason trump has had success with this tactic is that everyone he does it to finds settlements a really easy way to bribe him
nobody's got any reason to bribe a failed podcaster who will soon be out of a job
my assumption is that patel gets canned and told to go away quietly before this gets to the discovery phase
“drain the swamp!”
He is not “grappling with his own fears”. That implies constructive self-reflection. He is confused and vacillating, like all bullies are when they encounter pushback.

Remarkable how far Trump’s gotten with his lies that the war is going well, it’s practically over already, the Iranians are giving in, a big deal is imminent, any economic damage will be easily weathered and over fast, just live in that fiction, feel relief and excitement.
So many want to believe.
I think Iran wants a nuclear weapon more than ever now. It sees its only choices as being North Korea or Libya.
Trump is back to talking about civilisational destruction. He tells Fox News: “If Iran does not sign this deal, the whole country is getting blown up.”
That pro-freedom of the press napkin that you’re bringing to the next White House Press Correspondent’s Dinner is super tough though.
Remember when you caved to the Trump campaign’s demand to do zero fact-checking (aka, journalism) during the June 2024 presidential debate?
I agree. Also, I was thinking about Elizabeth Warren's claim that Platner is the real fighter in the campaign and I disagree with her...I think Mills would be far more likely to speak out against Trump to his face than Platner would.
Props to the WSJ, they managed to pack almost every Trump decision-making pathology into a single story. It’s all here:
1) Short attention span
2) Impulsive behavior
3) Knowledge deficits
4) Gambling for resurrection
5) Belief in the madman theory

HE IS LAUGHING AT YOU
there is a campaign of PACs and out of state political insiders trying to impose a candidate on Maine
its Graham Platner's
I know. The goal to increase the sense of “victimization” and reduce feelings of agency.
A very Bowdoin critical studies point of view though is that most people in one of the world’s richest countries are actually members of the proletariat, afflicted with “false consciousness.”
Accounts with red roses in their profiles are ecstatic about this, but one reason Democratic elected officials rarely address “the working class” is that the great majority of voters don’t self-identify as such, or even take it as a compliment. bsky.app/profile/joew...
Your boss “made” you show up! You’re a 57 year old multi multi millionaire news celebrity and you have no agency! It’s a tough situation.
what if you dutifully show up for him, but have a little napkin embossed with freedom of the press statements hanging out of a suit pocket? Is that strong resistance?
It’s refreshing that he’s accomplished nothing and dropped out everywhere despite unusual inherited generational wealth and privilege; asking for anything more in a candidate is just overwrought purity politics that costs us elections.
