These Mississippi elections were called to rectify the GOP’s racial gerrymandering. If these Dems win their races, they will break the GOP supermajority in the state Senate, increasing their power to fight back against Republican recklessness.

(Btw, Dems in Illinois and New Mexico had already drawn their congressional maps in 2021-22 in a way that pissed off Republicans 😉 )
TX Dems these past couple of weeks stopped a GOP attempt to rig the state's congressional races, fleeing to IL to deny the votes needed for it. IL Gov Pritzker protected them from arrest. This spurred CA and NY Dems to start redrawing their maps. Good. Dems, keep fighting.
Whatever Democrats think of Newsom, this is a big reason his current media strategy is winning him lots of attention.
In November, Dems need to support the three Pennsylvania State Supreme Court justices for “retention”, otherwise Trump and the GOP will be happy to replace all of them.
