Tales From The Clipped: The Dallas Stars remain one of the most potent power play teams in recent years, and at least through two, the postseason hasn't changed that.

I know Vancouver is taking it in the teeth for interviewing Kevyn Adams, but I don't view Adams' tenure any different than most GMs (certainly not the current one in Buffalo). Some hits, some misses, and in the end, like most hockey GMs: milquetoast unspectacular.
Damn. My bad! I made sure to search first and didn't see anything and BlueSky is much better about bringing back actual search results unlike Twitter, which just gives you random shit by dipshit blue check marks.
Postgame recap of Game 2 between the Dallas Stars and Minnesota Wild. Some soapbox time regarding the dirty stuff, and the well-deserved accolades for several players who are playing to reverse the narrative.

Damnit nobody on BlueSky posted the Marcus Foligno play on Thomas Harley?? Well here it is. The bullshit in all its' bullshit glory.
I knew some stupid shit like this was gonna happen in this series.
That Dallas cycle felt like it lasted 10 minutes. Total domination on that shift.
Tough goal to give up but it did give us footage of Miro Heiskanen trying to defend via twerk.
While the faceoffs dominated the penalty kill discussion, Dallas was punished more by Minnesota hitting almost all of their power play entries with passive play. The Stars adjusted against them this time in a big way.
If you're looking for hopium, Dallas' power play looked predictably elite against Minnesota's PK. Great movement, great chances, and 98 percent of the netminders don't make that arm save on Jason Robertson standing in the crease.
Still having trouble figuring out what Dallas is trying to do on their forecheck. I get that you can't be overly aggressive against someone like Quinn Hughes, but surely there's a middle ground between hyper aggressive and overly cautious.
Tales From The Clipped: The Dallas Stars lost big on the penalty kill versus Minnesota Wild. How can they salvage it?

Man I remember thinking Juraj Slafkovský would kind of top out as a strong top six winger but not the utter force of nature he is right now.
Some film room analysis on Dallas' penalty kill versus Minnesota goes up tomorrow. Some obvious stuff (the Stars were bad), but also some unexpected stuff. I'm tracking clean faceoff wins/losses versus possession faceoff wins/losses, and man Dallas got murked.
Postgame recap of a lifeless effort outside of life for nine minutes. The Dallas Stars start the series versus the Minnesota Wild like they've often done in recent years: down a game to open the playoffs.

Somebody needs to edit that Undertaker meme where instead of posting up fully, he sort of just twitches and momentarily pops up. That's Dallas right now.
Yea this one's done.
The good news is that Dallas appears to be keeping the Boldy line at bay. The bad news? The Kaprizov line has crushed Dallas in their minutes.
I didn't think Dallas played all that bad. Not great just not bad (outside of Myers' penalty). It's the same formula they've used all season: keep games tight, and find the edge on special teams (which they didn't have, I know). But Oettinger has looked great at least.
Pregame quicktake: Focus on shutting down Boldy and exploiting Minnesota on entry where they have been extra lax (the Wild don't give up a lot of goals but they give up a lot of chances). Also: keep the kerfuffles dirty but professional. Don't feed into their mantrums.
Nils Lundkvist is a player that I've really favored, and fallen out of favor on. Ultimately his development took shape, and now it's hard to see this new deal - two years, $1.75 AAV - as anything other than a slam dunk for the Dallas Stars.
Rick Bowness' comments on the Blue Jackets didn't sit well with me so I decided to write a naval-gazely response.

Postgame recap of Dallas' final regular season game versus the elite (yes elite) Buffalo Sabres, and why having some fun at the end might be the best vibe of all.

Mavrik Bourque on an absolute HEATER.
I know some fans and writers will eat it up because it sounds like accountability coming from the man with the ability to hold his players accountable (odd that!), but that was just jackass behavior from Rick Bowness.
Postgame recap of a silly game with awesome outcome for certain players as Dallas beats Toronto 6-5. dcastillo.substack.com/p/stray-obse...
With 27, Wyatt Johnston now moves into the top 20 all time for most power play goals in a season, tied for second among active skaters, below only Leon Draisaitl.
