Nothing like the sheer panic on a Sunday afternoon thinking I’ve ordered the wrong materials for a job.
Turns out it’s fine.

Always a great feeling when a client sends through the finished photos 📸
This full oak staircase was designed and installed by our team, featuring square spindles, chunky newel posts, and a bullnose bottom step. Paired with that herringbone oak flooring, the whole hallway just comes together.
A nice and simple pine staircase replacement. It might look a bit steep, but that's because it is! We were replacing the original, which had taken a real beating over the years.
This one will most likely outlive the owners, just like the original did.

This was a fun one to start off the new year. Came out well though.

I’ve invested in some better drawing software. It’s taken me a couple of hours to drawer a staircase that I’ve already finished.

New loft access in a 1600s listed home, built with reclaimed ship timber. Headroom was tight and the newer loft sat 500 mm higher. I dropped a 120 degree winder stair in the centre of the roof for safe, comfortable access that respects the building.

We have been quite busy lately with work that we’ve been neglecting the projects section. But here’s one.

I'm fitting a balustrade on a staircase today. As I'm looking at I think I might have fitted this staircase a couple of years ago.
A partially renovated staircase with new light wood railings and unfinished steps. Exposed brick and plaster walls show ongoing construction. A tape measure and a white bag rest on the steps. A cluttered room with a hanging lamp and a mirror reflecting a person is visible below.
Today we fitted a staircase that I was told was impossible to fit.
Anyway, here it is.

Today is a day where I am out measuring and meeting my customers. This afternoon, I should be in the office. #CustomerFirst
*headroom is tight, but it fits.
The image shows a CAD drawing interface with a black background and white lines forming a staircase section. The drawing appears to check headroom clearance for a stair design. The software interface includes various tool icons, a command line, and a grid overlay for precision drafting.
I've been double checking my math this morning.
I've been told my staircase design is impossible to fit in a space.
So I've been checking all my headroom's and it seems to work, headroom's are tight but they it fits.
Now to shake this imposter syndrome.

A built-in wardrobe unit with matte grey doors and silver handles spans the wall. Recessed lighting is installed above, and a floral-patterned wallpapered alcove is in the centre. The wooden herringbone flooring is partially covered with a dust sheet, suggesting ongoing work.
An open built-in wardrobe with a matte grey finish reveals internal storage. It features a top shelf, a hanging rail, a lower shelf, and four drawers with silver handles. A recessed light illuminates the space. The floor has a dust sheet and plastic, indicating ongoing work.
And it's finished!
Every time I do one of these I always want to do a solid oak one.
Today is about wardrobes.
Openvibe does a weird thing where when I reply to someone it also automatically mentions me too.
A wider view of the old staircase from the hallway. The balustrade is white and worn, with chipped paint and missing sections. The floor is dusty with footprints, and construction tools are scattered. A partially open door reveals a small utility space with exposed wiring.
A close-up of an old, damaged staircase with chipped white paint and exposed wood. The steps are worn, with uneven patches of brown and white. A hammer rests on one of the steps, and the surrounding plasterwork appears incomplete with visible cracks and holes.
A side view of the newly installed wooden staircase in a hallway. The light pine balustrade contrasts with the white walls and ceiling. The entrance door and a window above it allow natural light to enter. The unfinished floor shows dust and footprints, indicating ongoing renovation.
A newly installed wooden staircase with unfinished light pine balustrades and handrails. The steps are covered in construction dust, and the surrounding walls are painted white. A wooden door is visible on the left, and the staircase leads to an upper floor with a partially completed landing.
A little refurb that's complete, ready to be decorated.
This staircase was getting old and it was steep so we changed pitch slightly and brought it in to the 21st century.

Today is about balustrading a staircase we fit two days ago.
Let's go!

After a couple of hours of playing around I think I found the source the kept crashing my website.
I will be monitoring closely but I think it's fixed for now.

This started out as a ladder that was pretending to be a staircase.
But with some pipe cleaners, some shiny paper, a sprinkle of glitter, scissors, and a responsible adult. We made a staircase.
