Carmen and I stopped at some farm stand in the middle of buttfuck nowhere. No one around, idyllic as can be. Sat down in the rocking chairs to eat our PB&Js. This random dog appeared, came right up, and despite his size was trying to climb into our laps. He really wanted our sandwiches.

There is an animal in Japan called a tanuki. I’ve heard that this animal is rare in other parts of the world. It’s a cute animal that you sometimes spot in the mountains in the wild. I’d say it’s about the size of something between a cat and a dog.
