Absolutely the right call, I think they are trying to say it shouldn't come down to someone calling them to review it.

It should have been caught way before it did. Making the wrong call could have changed the trajectory for both teams.

Wanted to hate it, but other than the uncanny valley with the de-ageing it was actually pretty funny.

I loved in the live broadcast they cut to shot of the fans, one of which immediately flipped off someone and had a few choice words. 😀

The first one was a gutsy call, the 2nd one was smart. They had to run 2 plays before the 2 minute warning anyway. No harm (other than int) in throwing there. If it was incomplete, you just run on the next play and take it to the 2 minute warning.
