Today’s office while I stay at my parents in the UP helping my mother recoup from a fractured leg. Today is the official ice out and It’s great to all sorts of migratory birds that I don’t normally see in the summer when I’m usually here. Common Merganser ducks! Even a stork! #PureUncutMichigan

Well, I’m old and I have “tennis elbow” if I have to use a standard keyboard and mouse. I haven’t heard a new term, but I also use “cheaters” for reading glasses and “liver spots” for age marks on my hands. So I might not be the best authority. 😂

One thing I learned early on is that I wasn’t going to imprint on them what they should do in life. Mine are both in college now and they continually surprise me and I’m filled with joy how the rest of the world accepts them. It’s moments like this makes it all worth it.

I’ve always liked Fela Kuti, but I just started listening to the Fear No Man podcast by Jad Abumrad and it is straight up 🔥🔥🔥.

Shout out to Recovery Bike Shop in Nordeast – everyone in my family picked their bike up from Recovery. Always great service, no judging, and I cannot recommend them enough!

Wow – that is a choice and it’s one of the worst fonts outside of Comic Sans. Variable width on repeated letters in Keaschall and Lee? They’re stabbing us in the eyes and asking us to like it.

US 8 stops in Norway, MI, my dad’s childhood town. In the basement of City Hall there’s a photo of a hardware store and it has my name on it. “Chas. Treiber Hardware”. Apparently, my family helped start the town.

That’s what I need, I baffle! They don’t have any problems with just the pole.

I’m still waiting for my first bird at the Bird Buddy I recently picked up. I know it can take a while for birds to find a new feeder, but so far it’s just a Squirrel Buddy.

I have an Epson scanner, but regardless of using Vuescan or the Epson software, the scanner only works maybe 10% of the time. Never figured it out and just switched to a light panel and a macro lens. But it’s good to know there’s a module. NLP though is pretty swank.

I hear ya. One thing I haven’t seen though is a replacement for Negative Lab Pro which is a great LR plug in for scanning film. When I go through a big scan session, I may head back briefly.

I’ve been trying it recently and yeah, it can be hard to break old Lightroom habits. Thanks. I’ll check it out!

I remember MTV announcing times they were going to air MJ’s Thriller (1982). I watched The A Team religiously. 1984 was seminal. I wasn’t too far removed from losing a tooth riding my big wheel and it was only five years away from sporting a mullet. Good times.

As someone who lived through 1984, yes, it was amazeballs. MTV was relevant and played an important role.
