In the wake of the tragic events surrounding Charlie Kirk, we come together as fellow North Carolinians and as Americans to say clearly: there is no place for political violence in our state or our nation. It is unacceptable.
Our differences of opinion and debate are part of what makes our country strong. Those differences must never turn to violence.
Before we are Republicans or Democrats, we are neighbors, friends, and Americans. Each of us has a say in the world we’re building together. People shouldn’t feel intimidated out of our political process.
We have the choice to fan flames or stand up for our common humanity and love for our neighbors by rejecting political violence in all forms.
We stand united in choosing the latter, and we hope you’ll join us.

Our hearts are with everyone who knew and loved Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her spouse, and we continue hoping and praying for the full recovery of Senator John Hoffman and his spouse.

These heinous shootings were a targeted act of terror. It is unacceptable and nauseating to think about.

This is the result of years of right wing extremists vilifying and demonizing Democratic elected leaders. President Trump and leaders across the Republican Party need to condemn this or we’re truly beyond lost.

I just gave to the YDNC! Show your support with a contribution.

All of this, unfortunately, costs an insane amount of money.

@YDNC has a goal of raising $10,000 to support our programming, buy supplies for our chapters, and help send delegates going to Philadelphia for National Convention.

Help us meet our goal: secure.actblue.com/donate/ydnc

3. Show up everywhere.

We are going to be everywhere we can be. My mission over these next 100 days is going to be making sure our chapters and members have the resources they need to engage in their communities, and whenever I can, I'm going to be right there beside them.

2. We need to engage young people where they are at.

We still have work to do to bring folks back to the table who stayed home in 2024 because they didn't like what our party had to offer. Our caucuses are a vital tool to do that, and I'm focused on building them up.

1. We need to be organized all across North Carolina.

We have races on the ballot in 25/26 that we cannot leave uncontested & campaigns that need support. These next 100 days I'm going to be traveling across the state getting chapters of young Democrats organized & ready to go.

On Saturday, I was reelected as President of @ydnc.bsky.social. I’m grateful to my fellow YDs who placed their faith in me to lead our federation once again.

In 100 days, YDNC goes to Philly for @youngdems.bsky.social National Convention. I want to share what we're gonna do between now and then:

STATEMENT FROM YDNC PRESIDENT ZACH FINLEY ON NC COURT OF APPEALS’ DECISION

Raleigh, NC — Today, the Young Democrats of North Carolina’s President Zach Finley released the following statement on the NC Court of Appeals’ decision to disenfranchise more than 65,000 voters.

“Voters in North Carolina spoke in November 2024 and elected Allison Riggs to remain in her Supreme Court seat. Rather than accept their defeat, Jefferson Griffin and NC Republicans are working to steal this election by throwing out the lawful votes of 65,000 North Carolinians. Their legal arguments are nonsense, their respect for voters is non-existent, and this needs to end.

North Carolina deserves better than these losers blowing up our democratic process because they can’t admit they lost.”

While there are folks who will choose to demonize and attack trans and non-binary folks, there are so many more who choose love and acceptance.

Today, and every day, we won’t stop fighting, because North Carolina is for everyone. Always. #TransDayOfVisibility

Tech lessons of the week:
- Don’t give your DNA to a startup that’s one bad quarter away from a yard sale.
- Don’t add journalists to Signal group about war plans.
- Don’t finish the ‘Cold Harbor’ file.

YDNC endorses Anderson Clayton to be the next chair of the North Carolina Democratic Party.

714 days ago, @ydnc.bsky.social stuck up for one of our own to become the next chair of the @ncdemocrats.bsky.social.

Our faith wasn’t misplaced then and it isn’t now. Tonight, I am so proud that YDNC once again endorses our fellow young Democrat @abreezeclayton.bsky.social to a 2nd term as chair.

North Carolinians deserve better than sore losers throwing tantrums because they didn't get their way—which is why voters elected Allison Riggs, who's demonstrated her ability to approach tough cases with the grace & maturity required to sit on our highest court. #ncpol

Anderson has a plan to build upon our successes in 2025/26, while also refocusing our efforts to hyper focus on where we missed the mark as a party.

I’m proud to be her friend and I’m excited to cast my vote for her on February 22nd to continue the work to build a better South.

It was an honor two years ago to cast my vote for this fearless, determined leader who has shown so much grace & grit in this role.

Not only has she pushed aside the doubts of naysayers in showing that young can get it done, she showed us in 2024 that young GOT IT done. #ncpol

Clayton For Carolina | Anderson Clayton For NCDP Chair Anderson Clayton is an organizer by trade, a proud rural North Carolinian, and the current Chair of the North Carolina Democratic Party.

Today, I’m beyond proud to announce I’m running for re-election as Chair of the North Carolina Democratic Party.

In 2024, we made incredible wins for our state, even as the nation fell to a right wave. Together, we will continue to fight for a new South.

I hope you’ll join me in supporting Reyna for DNC Vice Chair of Civic Engagement and Voter Protection. Truthfully, we need more practitioners and less performers. We need more folks who have been staff at every level in positions of power. And we can do it by supporting Reyna! ⬇️
