Israeli strike kills journalist after ongoing attacks blocked rescuers, Lebanon says Amal Khalil had been buried in rubble after an Israeli strike that also injured another journalist, Zeinab Faraj

Last year I was at the European Security council meeting in Vienna. There was a forum on authoritarian attacks on press freedom.
I asked why no one brought up Israel who relentlessly target and murder journalists.
Everyone looked surprised and said nothing.

generally to go out of province for treatment requires approval so that NS Health will cover the bill. In NS it seems that the only folks approved are friends and supporters of Tim Houston. Unfortunately by going to the USA one just needs to foot the bill themselves. money = treatment

That's mean.
I've seen a few resumés for Pierre Poilievre where he claimed to have worked at Dairy Queen. A vague reference to a paper route.
But he lives in a 19 room publicly funded mansion with his own private chef and groundskeepers.
I'm sure he's negotiated something, somewhere, at some time.

it has gotten to the point that unless it is sentimental or irreplaceable it has become almost cheaper to purchase new at destination. Shipping items has become out of reach cost wise. Perhaps someone is driving and could take it for you.

So American legislators are angry Canadian liquor stores (except in Alberta!) have pulled US wine from the shelves.

They want us to put it back.

Mannn - don’t they understand that even if they put it back, we’ll still not buy it?!

Opposition parties cry foul over Liberal move to seize control of committees | CBC News Conservatives say the Liberals are trying to "stack the deck" by moving to seize control of House committees, and are proposing to leave three oversight committees intact.

LOL, the idiot CPC party is having a fit now that they can no longer obstruct and stop committees from performing their work. Years of inaction are ending and they are powerless as opposed to holding the country hostage to their childish drug addled minds. www.cbc.ca/news/politic...

If you do nothing more than observe the size of the average American commuter vehicle, it becomes really hard to feel sorry for anyone complaining about the price of gas.

You don't get to choose to drive oversized, overpowered geometry and have all of society subsidize the fuel it requires to move.

The $200 million (public dollars) - or $10 million a year for 10 years from National Defence - was retroactive to 2025, so MLS gets to use the first $20 million to pour a little more concrete and call it a “spaceport,” which Canadians will then “lease” from MLS. You can’t even make this shit up.

You know what’s ACTUALLY scary?

That some very wealthy corporations and people badly want you to be afraid of more walkable, less car dependent, neighbourhoods.

New Gas-Powered Data Centers Could Emit More Greenhouse Gases Than Entire Nations A WIRED review of permits for data center projects using natural gas and linked to OpenAI, Meta, Microsoft, and xAI shows they could emit more than 129 million tons of greenhouse gases per year.

NEW: I've been shocked by some of the numbers I've been seeing on behind-the-meter power plants for data centers, so I did a little math.

less than a dozen gas plants being built to power data centers for big tech companies could emit a maximum of nearly 130 million tons of CO2e each year (!)

Why Cities Shouldn’t Fall For the Robotaxi Hype Transportation historian Peter Norton sees a pattern in the promises that autonomous vehicle companies make as they push self-driving cars into cities.

"What robot cars are promising is the next generation of car dependency."

working 7-12 days straight then covering another position for the day or 2 they are supposed to be taking care of themselves and their families we have a major problem. Tim Houston's solution is to not fill open positions. Tim Houston and the NSPC party idiots need to go.

broken despite what the idiot drunkard Tim Houston and his clapping seals are claiming. The only thing holding this together are the professionals who are working past their contract and doing far more than a person should be expected to. When we have highly specialized health care providers

Ottawa cutting more than $29M in health-care funding to P.E.I., health minister says | CBC News P.E.I.'s health minister says the federal government is cutting more than $29 million in health-care funding to the province over the next three years.

Do better CBC, the PEI PC government failed to renegotiate a 5 year agreement which is expiring , they also failed to fund the programs under PEI health. This is a failure of the PEI PC premier and not of Ottawa. There are zero cuts
FFS get something right for once.

so called news agencies, if I start reading a story you are publishing and I come across so and so stated on X, then I am gone. At that point you are simply posting the ravings of a lunatic on a vile platform. Zero credibility and zero involvement. News is now simply the national inquirer garbage
