What we see here is something very common: that people treated by the media - inc the BBC - as neutral, dispassionate and reliable are actually deeply embedded in capitalism and all its myths. They are as partisan as anyone else. They sound neutral because what they say aligns with "common sense".

A few weeks ago Sinclair stood with self proclaimed neo Nazis in Bristol who waved the Union flag while chanting HH and throwing Nazi salutes. A few days later he went on to meet with Ayran Front in secret and used his platform to promote their group. Is that the "culture" people don't like?
Today, Sinclair posted a video of himself harassing a BBC videographer capturing footage of the graffiti which appeared in east Belfast after Union flags were taken down. According to him the flags were taken down because migrants who are being "brought" here don't like "our culture".
Excellent history of trans healthcare, while I didn't go through the UK system, there are echoes of what I experienced at the time. Warning for jumpscare appearance of John Randell,a name that will send shivers down the spine of any trans person of a certain age
So this👇
A narrative has been made that trans people, particularly trans women, are ‘dangerous’ and need to be restricted from taking part in society.
But this ‘crusade’ to remove trans people will not change the risks women face. If anything, it gives an excuse to control women even more.
the state of israel, like apartheid south africa, like the jim crow south, like nazi germany, has determined that crimes against a certain type of person, no matter how heinous, aren't crimes because the victims are not people. there is no "but them first" defense of israel that can stand up to it
I know, I keep promising to sort out a new account and not doing it. Life is a succession of chaoses small and large.
I'm always saying that people in Great Britain need to pay more attention to NI for exactly this reason: sooner or later our problems always become your problems, either in the imitative sense (the Ulsterisation of Britain), or e.g. that you literally have Arlene "cash for ash" Foster in the Lords.
This is framed as a normal thing to say, and her credibility on financial matters simply assumed (even though her time in government saddled us with RHI debt), but saying "we need to tax the rich more" is explicitly framed as extremist, absurd, not serious.
Also this is Lansdowne Care Home and when she went in their staff didn't even believe me when I warned them about her cognitive decline, so for god's sake be careful if you have a loved one in there or considering it as an option.
Update: turns out there isn't a specific phone number for East Belfast carers support so have had to ring the main carer service phone number, leave a message and hope for the best.
And when I say anyone I specifically mean anyone in NI who has some kind of experience with this stuff; social care is totally different here than in other parts of the UK. Don't DM as I cannot access my DMs on here.
I'm about to call East Belfast Carer Support (have not even had my Carer's Assessment yet; they were trying to work out who it should be done by; your own SW cannot do it but Mum was wrongly put in rehab in North instead of East Belfast so that complicates things) but if anyone has ideas email me.
They dropped this bombshell on a day when my social worker is off and calling the duty social worker for my SW team seems out because the whole point is it needs to be someone that knows me advocating for me.
They are ignoring info about Mum, about me as presumed carer (she would have care package 4x a day, but Mum has obvious but so far not formally diagnosed dementia, and does not reliably use her walker so needs more supervision, and I can't move in with her), and about the safety of the flat itself.
Emergency/trying to get the word out to everyone who knows me: the home where my mum's been in rehab is trying to discharge her to her flat on Tuesday 20th despite this being VERY dangerous for her, and despite my ongoing crisis mental health situation. They're holding off only on a technicality.
Not quite the innkeeper, but there's a really moving poem, The Innkeeper's Wife by Clive Sansom, that has haunted me for years. It's such a beautiful little study of everyday lives and griefs and being in proximity to the momentous, unknowingly. fromtroublesofthisworld.wordpress.com/2025/12/10/t...
For people who've added me on Dreamwidth: I posted an update.
No worries - I see you and have added you back! 💜
Hey folks, I often do posts calling for indie developers to link me their games so I can signal boost them. Today I want to do something similar for all trans creatives.
If you are a trans game dev, artist, writer, streamer or YouTuber, reply here with a link to your work. Only one rule: no GenAI.💜
Cool, have a good weekend and we'll speak soon! 💜
I don't suggest that all of our MPs are venal, self-serving people who don't care. Some are better. But generations of gravy train-riders in NI have taught their successors how to balance in that sweet spot where a mask of caring is just good enough to fool enough of the people, enough of the time.
But the other reason is that not everyone in Northern Ireland is poor and deprived. Some of us - i.e. the small number who are MPs - are living vastly more comfortable lives than everyone else, and many have an eye on becoming even moreso one day, via a peerage. They'll never rock that boat.
Everyone in Northern Ireland deserves better than the leaders we've got. One reason they don't fight Westminster more effectively on things like the inadequacy of the block grant is that it suits them for large numbers of people here to live in poverty and deprivation. It's a divide and rule tool.
Hey, I've owed you a message since circa my birthday - things really fell apart that week and then chaos descended due to caring responsibilities, but I would still like to do a Zoom hang!
I'd meant to attend the Disabled People's Parliament thing at Stormont tomorrow, but my mental health has been so bad lately that I've got limited ability to safely engage with public policy from a disability perspective. The COVID inquiry continues to show how little we matter to leaders; end of.
Tonight I am here mainly to scream about this. They are/always were a load of sectarian cunts who make every decision on basis of orange vs. green, though Sinn Fein noticably forget their sectarian loyalties when fucking over trans people because Keir told them to.

I wanted to set up new accounts, but then life took multiple very bad turns (as in, three fifths of my family have either been in hospital recently or, in my case, are waiting for a bed) so at this point having inadvertently doxxed myself is the least of my worries.
Weird, now both posts show the new one. This fucking website is so janky. 3/
None of this will happen overnight because my life is fucking on fire at the moment - sorry for any confusion btw as I got distracted and switched my profile pic to match that account halfway through making this thread, looks really weird to me as the first post has my old pic apparently?
