Thanks for elucidating on this! This is super helpful. Will look up some proper forms instead of just doing what feels natural

But like is it bad as just generalised excercise without a goal of becoming stronger? Am I fucking up my back somehow? That's more what I'm wondering

I just do random lifts with them (10kg solid) while sitting in my office chair during long meetings at work so I don't tab out and lose focus, and also so I'm getting some form of excercise. Is that the wrong way?

he's doing all the typical male activities like drinking pond mulch & running his hands through the gravel until his fingers are calloused and bleeding, then pressing them into the mud below which is soft, so soft & so welcoming

I think the recurring presence of Mulder and Scully speaks to a desire for something episodic...or perhaps for the comfort of nostalgia. Who can say

had that dream again where Mulder n Scully beat me up with lead pipes & force-feed me ketamine.

Sadly my wee publishing company is closing next month.

I’m clearing out my goffice and offering 66% off all our exceptionally talented author’s books.

Sales and shares appreciated!

Aye lad, am still subscribed to your su stack without moral issues. but I'm on a forum where folks are looking for which platform to use etc. I've been something of a "substack has best reach but had baggage(tm) voice" there, but actually digging into it on google have nae proof/backup

Hey Bluesky, can someone share credible sources linking subtack to facsim/zionism? I been telling folks to stay off the platforms, but realised I have no good sources and web search does not succor

The second comment in the thread posted the image with alt text.

Main points:

- passenger traffic still going through (for now)
- pharmaceutical freight blocked since yesterday
- once scheduled ships for Monday arrive there will be no more capacity

two, maybe three questions

how "issues"/chapters should I finish before launching a webcomic

and what do I need to do to try patreon again. what are the kids into these days?

forgive the basic questions, I am an idiot.

Hopefully any long periods of writer's block can also be submitted as proof

A little bittersweet to receive my contributor copy of Lucent Dreaming Issue 15, as it will be their last.

I am honoured they chose to include my maudlin cli-fi story MOLEHILLS in their swan song.

Many thanks to the editorial team for the great job they did putting this together

⚔️Guys, what if we paid our authors 12c/word and triple base pay per illustration for our artists? What if we gave Canucks $10 USD off shipping and everybody else outside the US $20 off?

If you know anybody who might enjoy a red hot Sword & Sorcery magazine, please let them know before 12pm Sat!🤘

What works for me is making rejections the goal (i.e. ain for X rejections a month) because that's something you can control. For what it's worth I've sold (multiple!) stories that had 10+ rejections so it really is a game of perseverence

Yeah. Like...what an unpleasant and immediate way to be completely vindicated

Christ on a bike those comments. What is wrong with these people. Reported the outright racist/hateful ones though I doubt that does much

I still use it out of habit (compsci grad), but have to be ready to give a disclaimer. Vexing

Do I know any journalists or news outlets who might be willing to write an article about the months I’ve spent begging GoFundMe to release the funds I’ve raised? I wish this were more common knowledge so no one else finds themselves in this position. (Please boost!)

Was on SSRIs for 2-3 years and... yeah, it was pretty much the same thing for me. Hugs

Aye, fingers crossed! I'll keep an eye out for your stories :)

Adds up to about 5% acceptance rate, still very high! I avg about 20-30 submissions per month and will have something approaching that depending how shortlisted stuff pans out

Thanks! 8 is crazy good numbers. Fair play to you. (I have 3-4 on shortlists, but this inspires me to send some more subs this year)

2 months ago 1 0 1 0

Congratulations! I do the same - detailed spreadsheets of submissions + casting a wide net. 2 sales and counting for me this year (though technically filed in last year's sheet since I go by sub date not accept/reject date)

It feels weird to say "Buy my book" given everything, but I stand by the dedication on this collection's first page:

"To the women of Saint Paul, who deserve endless praise."

The resistance here is strong, and I'm so proud of my community working every hour of every day to protect our neighbors.

⚠️ NEED REMOTE WORK 💻
I am disabled and the in-person jobs I've taken and am applying for are unsustainable for me.

If anyone could direct me to any clerical/data remote jobs, I'd be grateful.
I have 20 years experience with Excel and AMS's.

Cumulatively or "per capita"?

A View from the Slush

I wrote a thing about short stories, why they get rejected, and what you can apply to your own work.
