3 months wasn't a long wait. My last layoff led to a 9 month stint on the dole, and was majorly depressing. This time, I did not panic, treated the time as a much needed vacation, took it one day at a time, and am happy to say I am in a good place right now.

That being said... whew! what a relief.

While the tech job market is tough for juniors and fresh graduates, the Senior level market is still popping. I did apply to literally dozens of jobs, and in the end I interviewed for 5 different companies. Each would have been a fine fit, but thankfully the right one made the right choice.

After being laid off 3 months ago and after 2 months of negotiations, I am proud to report that I am now full-time employed with the job I wanted, making the salary I asked for.
