The First WORLD FENCING LEAGUE is happening April 25th!!! I'M GEEKING!!!
Japanese engineers developed this "Sword Tip Visualisation" tracking technology specifically for this event that will make it so much easier for the average person to see what's going on!
I MUST WATCH THIS ENTIRE TOURNAMENT

Conversation last night with some folks in my game group about the various editions of D&D got my brain churning and I wrote a summary of each edition on my blog. Turned out over 5000 words but hopefully its a fun read!

This is basically what I learned when I took an accessible design course.
The goal is to communicate the key impressions of the art. Don't try to include all 1000 words the picture is worth.
Maxine and Alexander Sanders doing a ritual. She is stabbing a cup he is holding with a knife while he has his head placed between her knees.
Say what you will about Wicca, but Alexander Sanders made an entire religion about doing weird foreplay with his wife and that's Goals
"irreversible side effects of HRT" all of life is irreversible. i cannot go back a single second in time
if they would just let me walk through the car wash all my problems would be solved for good
Alex says "well, economy's fucked. Time to start camming." She asks herself "what's my niche?" She gets an idea. She has set up a sexual version of Cow Tools. Her friend says "I don't get it..."
Like even if this all ends without an escalation from the present level of bloodshed Trump and his administration should be held accountable for the threat alone. Making this threat, on its own, is a crime against humanity.

A crude wattle fence serving as a garden bed wall.
My time in the garden lately has been spent making crude wattle fences.
Funny enough I just revisited Colossal this week myself. What a movie!

The problem with having a caller in D&D is that the guy who wants to be caller is always the worst at it. Better that the referee watch the group, identify the player who best coaxes consensus from the others, then direct questions to them.

"uh, this game sucks because getting hit in the balls is just bad game design"
Plebs never had a bag tag friend group smh
christ millennials we have got to let the younger generations break our balls about our dumb bullshit. epic bacon garbage and so forth. did none of you learn the golden rule of ballbreaking: the more you gripe about it the more of it you bring rightly down on yourself
Worst day of the year for trans rogues.
There is something evil within me, so that whenever someone says a mechanic in abstract is "bad game design," I am compelled to list ways that mechanic could be fun productive.
There's a seed of fairness in their mockery, but yeah.
Also that's wild. I've been in similar positions a few times, and it's always strange to realize which of my experiences have become history. A thing that must be learned rather than remembered.
I know 'osr guy who still misses g+' has become a trope the younger osr people mock, but fuck it, not sorry, it was better than anything we've got since.
Goddamn, Ian. Knife through my heart.
An excerpt of an interview with art historian and critic David Sylvester which i think feels relevant to the environment artists find themselves in the digital/social media/algorithmic content age
You're so rad.
Early 20th c political cartoon depicting suffragettes as dowdy middle-aged women
In all seriousness though, elder millennial jokes aside, I think it’s important to resist the media framing of any mainstream resistance to the status quo as just the shrill nonsense of middle-aged women with nothing better to do. This isn’t the first time they’ve run out this playbook.
My friend, that is a genuinely lovely picture of a penis.

Life hack: wear makeup so you force yourself to wash your face
I've said it before: I genuinely consider it a moral imperative that people my age and up bang the drum about what the Internet used to be so those younger know that there's nothing inherent about what it is now. The Internet doesn't have to be this; its culture can and has belonged to people.
