A lot of Leadership Dev is leadersh*t. Focused on personal development such as projecting the right image of openness, empathy and sincerity. It makes sense though, as it’s a lot easier than what matters to employees - making work better.
If you have original thoughts and painstakingly weave them together then yes, by all means call yourself an “author”. If you collect stories, anecdotes and examples from others and tie them together, you are an “assembler”. Valuable in its own right but not the same.
As a former teacher (special education/ History) I’m quite enjoying all the chatter about how, NOW in the age of AI, the humanities matter more than ever
The number of people writing books these days has increased dramatically.
I wonder wAI … I mean I wonder why? 😏
Bro is tired from waking up…
At one employer the leadership painfully & laboriously tried to analyze the written text of an engagement survey to determine who was complaining. No intent to fix issues, just identify the disgruntled.
Now AI can connect to your intranet. Malignant actions no longer to be painful or laborious.

My son is pursuing a degree in business. My advice to him though is that it’s going to be rough going for a new graduate. My advice: Don’t chase a degree or title, be a problem solver.
Learn to:
1. Identify problems
2. Identify the most important ones
3. Fix ‘em
You’ll always be employed.
If you ask people to write every chapter for “your” book. If you solicit artifacts and examples and simply connect them together, for the love of god don’t call yourself an author. You’re an editor at best, better yet, an Assembler. Put THAT in your LinkedIn profile.

What kind of turnout do you think you would see if these gatherings were held on a Tuesday v. a Saturday?
The shift to be made isn’t about defending quality in our creations as much as it is about redesigning how value is created. www.linkedin.com/posts/markbr...

Cigna insurance is giving its subscribers free access to the Headspace app (meditation). You have to answer all kinds of Qs in the app about your mental state so Headspace can ”better get to know you”. Your call if you want to tell your insurance company you’re all stressed out or not…
I’ve been to many shows. This was the best. Say what you will about the Foo Fighters but emerging from the pandemic. The look in my wife’s eyes when Dave stepped out and spoke. I’ll never forget it. #Syracuse #FooFighters youtu.be/n_mmXG-hjZE?...
2015 VW Golf TSI. Manual transmission. M’boy’s new whip! Gives me flashbacks to my own Golf (‘97) stick shift as well. It’s so f*%^ing fun to drive! I’m jealous as hell!
www.hcamag.com/us/specializ... / according to this research, heavy AI users are actually more engaged with peers at work. Hmm… causation or correlation? Were they REALLY social anyway and stayed that way even through AI adoption? I have questions…🤨
AI won’t take your job. Someone figuring out how to have AI take your job, will take your job.
Remember, behind every tool is an illogical, emotional human user.
www.linkedin.com/posts/markbr... /as text-based media succumbs to unrelenting AI creation, its value will decrease. People will desire more and more F2F. Not because we crave authentic connection but rather what comes from it - Trust. We need to trust.
Happy retirement D.Will! #Rams fans thank you for moments like this one! youtu.be/-ToetvWEr3c?...
