I am excited to share my first collective visual essay. I worked with an incredible group of women.
The essay is a product of our collective research during the 2025 @imiscoe-phdnetwork.bsky.social summer school, held at the Instituto de Geografia in Lisbon.

This podcast is based on a report I co-authored and was published by @britishfuture.bsky.social earlier this year. Have a look:
A new podcast on international students in the UK. The title is brilliant @jasonilagan.com. It was lovely chatting with @heather-rolfe.bsky.social and @bdmabrams.bsky.social. Thank you so much for hosting the conversation @ioe.bsky.social .
Finland has also put in place an exceptional emergency law that allows it to reject asylum applications from migrants crossing its closed eastern border with Russia and to send them back.

It was great to receive our three publications on the same week. You can find the publications in the thread below
I've been writing on neoliberal urbanism & authoritarianism since 2019 and I think it is very important to understand politics in the Middle East. If interested, check “Place Branding as a Political Act: Approaching Saudi Arabia’s NEOM beyond its Shiny Façade” www.degruyterbrill.com/document/doi...
Simon and Thomas wrote an interesting blog post on the book: "The Middle East is drowning in oppressive utopias. How can we recognize emancipatory visions instead?” you can access it here euppublishingblog.com/2025/04/04/m...
I was super happy to receive the book last week, titled “Utopianism in the Middle East and North Africa” edited by @simonwfuchs.bsky.social and Thomas Pierret. The edited volume includes inspiring chapters on utopias and dystopias in the Middle East. www.degruyterbrill.com/document/doi...
I am pleased to share my new publication “Saudi’s NEOM: A New ‘Utopian City’ Gluing the Jewel to the Crown”. The chapter engages with neoliberal urbanism and authoritarianism focusing on NEOM www.degruyterbrill.com/document/doi...
10 years! ♥️ @mihatsch.bsky.social

📘 We live in a time where once again conceptions of sovereignty are shifting...
Check out this thread for the key results of our recent study.
@observeruk.bsky.social mentions findings of the report I coauthored in collaboration with @britishfuture.bsky.social on public attitudes on international students in the UK.
It was exciting to work with @britishfuture.bsky.social @heather-rolfe.bsky.social on this report. Even amidst the polarized migration debate, most of the public recognizes the importance of international students and opposes reducing their numbers, despite comprising 40% of net migration in the UK
