Never mind that the way to keep the most contiguous open space is to build all the way to the front and sides of the lot so that all the open space is in one big chunk in the back, we absolutely must keep useless 10' gaps (where nobody ever plants trees) anyplace a lot line exists.

It's where they try to argue that multiple homes on the same lot should be required to share walls to leave more contiguous space for planting trees, but homes on different lots have to be separated for some reason.
Yep. I care far less about top speed than "can it get me up the hills in my city without slowing to a crawl." Turns out a motor capable of doing that can often go pretty fast on level ground! I have mine set to top out at slower speeds than that for the safety of myself and others.
This doesn't even have anything to do with zoning! You're at the wrong meeting, talk to the parks department.
graphic of a cup of coffee prioritizing youth mobility is prioritizing adult relaxing When kids can walk/roll safely and independently to school, you can enjoy some peaceful time to yourself.
youth mobility = adult relaxing
I'm in this fight to do less more often.
That was my guess too.
The thing is that having half-finished infrastructure inconveniences a lot of people for a long time. Is it really better to have a street half-closed for months instead of just closing the whole thing for a week while they do the work in the most efficient way possible?
Update: it was not in fact happening. Apparently long-winded politicians delayed the first train from ID to 11:00.
Real time arrival sign showing 11 minutes until the first train to Redmond from Seattle
It's happening!
I live in a condo. Does @warren.senate.gov not think it’s my home?
Answering the real questions here.
You're welcome to disagree with the established consensus, but your disagreement won't make you immune from having your "strongly discouraged" edits deleted with prejudice.
You seem to be willfully misinterpreting the document. People are "strongly discouraged" (with bold and italics) from writing about themselves. Full stop. Wikipedians don't look kindly on it and you just shouldn't do it.
"Poor form" is a common phrase referring to behavior that is discouraged and viewed poorly by a community. The phrase does not appear verbatim in the linked page, but the whole thing is a discussion of why creating or making substantive edits to an article about yourself is in fact poor form.

Seems way wiser to buy equipment for the streets you want than to design streets for the equipment you have.
Seems like narrower fire trucks might be a good idea too.
Convince her that POGs are the best thing ever.
You have to be trying pretty hard to trigger parking requirements for Seattle homes anymore. Among other exceptions, no parking is required if you plant trees that will mature to shade 10% of the lot. That's nothing. Makes me wonder what was holding them back from just repealing the requirement.
Are you literally a unicyclist or is this an interesting German idiom?

It's technically from Aurora just north of the tunnel entrance to the viaduct, and was removed when they built the big tunnel and redid the street there. I did always think that sign gantry was super distinctive.

Imagine thinking that large corporate landlords are bad but only if the homes they're renting out have an air gap between them.
It says it's about how many college grads from elsewhere move to WA compared to how many college grads from WA move elsewhere.
If you're really trying to maximize that stat you'll close all the WA colleges so the percentage trends toward infinity. :-)
What are all those modern cars doing there? Shouldn't the historic preservation board do something about that?
I have my doubts that resurrecting the 46 would yield markedly different results today, but hey...if and when Metro gets the funding to bring back the service through my neighborhood that they cut a couple of years ago, I'd be happy to see them try this too.
We used to have a bus there but Metro cancelled it because almost nobody rode it. web.archive.org/web/20101126...
Due to the cliff (i.e. the same reason the walk from the 45 is such a climb) the only destination for the bus was the park and marina. That doesn't bring in many people unfortunately.
Canadian women had the Scotties (their national championship) just prior to the Olympics and their Team Homan also decided not to compete. Interestingly the men's Team Canada will be competing in the Briar (starts tomorrow).
The timing of the world championships (starting in two weeks for women, a couple weeks after that for men) necessitates this timeline for nationals. Neither US Olympic team is competing this year.
