constantly seeing companies lay people off, we all know why. yet the C suite continue to rake in millions in bonuses and stocks, its sickening. people still defend it, getting distracted from centuries old propaganda around immigrants and "others"

the writing is on the wall and people still aren't getting it and trying to convince everyone that AI tools aren't a bad thing

i've not personally used AI for translating, but i expect it would be marginally better than the existing translation tools like google translate, potentially better for translating large bodies of text vs small phrases/words

if AI has any "good" use-case, this kind of thing would be one of the few

altho it depends what you're looking to translate! my use case is software development which i expect would be a lot different than for example blog/news posting

ive also used www.transifex.com before for an open source project with volunteer translators - but this was years before the ai shit so a lot of them now will tout it - but the tool for managing the actual translations is still good even if you dont use the ai side of things

your best bet would be to find volunteers, especially for welsh, honestly. a lot of localisation tools offer translation services, both automated/ai and human. a sad reality is a lot of companies just use google translate (ugh)
