(5/5) Saint Paul is better because of Sean’s leadership. His legacy is not just in the projects completed, but in the culture of excellence and integrity he leaves behind.
Thank you, Sean, for your service and for setting the bar so high. @seankershaw.bsky.social
(4/5) What stood out most was his commitment to doing the work the right way. He was accessible when it mattered, honest even when it was difficult, and always focused on outcomes that truly served the community. That combination of professionalism and purpose built real trust—and delivered results.
(3/5) Whether navigating major projects or everyday challenges, Sean consistently led with clarity, accountability, and a steady hand.
(2/5)Sean set a standard that is all too rare in public service—one defined by integrity, transparency, and genuine responsiveness. He didn’t just manage complex infrastructure and public systems; he elevated how government shows up for its residents, stakeholders, and partners.
(1/5) As @seankershaw.bsky.social steps down from his role as Director of Public Works for Saint Paul, it’s hard to overstate the impact of his leadership of the department.

This is a great example of leadership. Ramsey County is wrong about the benefits of the CP Ford Spur. Rebecca Noecker will fight to acquire this public space for people walking and biking in West 7th, and it'll pay off in spades.
This April, we are working to raise $1,500 by April 30 to unlock a full matching gift.
Every dollar will be DOUBLED.
If you care about thoughtful growth and a welcoming Saint Paul, now is the time to give.

Never reticent Mike. You had me as a convert from day 1.
This is not true, the president of state fire marshals group misunderstood the study. It found that even with sprinklers, doors, etc. failing, fewer people are faced with blocked egress in a single-stair building than in a double-loaded corridor building.
Also…let’s just be a state where codes are based in reality and risk analysis. The study commissioned by DLI (which sets our state code) decisively concluded “that certain single-staircase buildings, with appropriate fire safety measures, are no less safe” than 2 stair buildings we currently allow.
Congrats to Rep. @katiejonesmpls.bsky.social and family, who biked to the hospital last week and came back with baby Hans. Here's what she told me about the ride:
Consultants contracted by Minnesota found that an eight-story single-stair building with 6,000 sq. ft. per floor (building 4) has dramatically lower fire risk than a same-height code-compliant two-stair building with a larger floor plate (building 1) www.dli.mn.gov/sites/defaul...
The fire protection engineers tasked with doing Minnesota’s single-stair study will present their findings at 1 p.m. CT on Fri., Dec. 12. The virtual meeting registration (it’s open to call) is here: www.dli.mn.gov/about-depart...

If you think this common sense tool should be legal everywhere in Minnesota, please consider donating to support our advocacy and education work. Our work paved the way for the auto-enforcement pilot project and is the way to expand this to help all Minnesotans

Be sure to read this Op-Ed from @tombasgen.bsky.social on how voting Yes on Administrative Citations will improve the lives of renters by giving the city an essential enforcement tool. He also corrects some of the misinformation circulating about the policy.

Curious if they took advantage of the @minneapolismn.gov Green Cost Share program!?
Great success story!
Love this!
“Prospect Park used 29% less natural gas between 2019 and the end of 2024, according to CenterPoint Energy, while citywide gas use fell by 20% during that period…roughly the output of 378 gasoline cars in a year.”
