A post on the Genshin Impact subreddit announcing the recasting of the character Kinich The text reads: After Version 5.5 is updated, Kinich's VA will be updated to Jacob Takanashi (this change only applies to new content in Version 5.5, historical content will be gradually updated in subsequent versions). A response from a Reddit user states: I know nothing about HSR's situation, but in ZZZ, both VAs were non-union but striking anyway. Nothing was keeping them from working. Can't say I know enough about Kinich's actor, but if the Strike becomes an invalid reason for him to stop voicing the character then I imagine the same applies to him.

An exchange between two users about the recasting One says: I think hoyo is running out of patience with the strike and will slowly recast actors that refuse to come back. The response from the other is: Frankly, it's been a long time coming, Hoyo was very respectful and willing to work through this situation for a long time, but it's fundamentally effected the game for EN players and I'm sure it's being reflected in their data.

A Reddit user stating: This is unfortunate but at the same time, it's something that must be done. It's almost half a year already.

A recent Genshin Impact update reveals yet another striking actor has been recast.

Here is the apathy it receives in response.

Shame on anyone who thinks the strike would ever “become an invalid reason” in this context.
