In a game where Osgir did some typical Osgir things (make two Sol Rings, loop some extra turns with Ugin’s Nexus, etc.) the best play was still an early turns tempo hit — make four Portable Holes eating all my opponents value creatures or mana rocks. So many holes, so little time.

Every single thing I’ve seen from Lorwyn Eclipsed has me hooting and hollering at my desk.
Any type of counter, you say? What if we animate Sagas and do mono white story counter shenanigans? There are 40+ white Sagas, so I bet we can get up to some stuff.
Aragorn and Back Again and Again, where we try to make as many Smaug tokens as possible and either mill the table, kill the table, or Helix Pinnacle in major fashion. moxfield.com/decks/-34xpY...
Judge! If I use Liquimetal Torque to turn an enchantment into an artifact as well, then enchant it with Moonlit Meditation, the aura would stick around after the permanent ceases to be an artifact, right?
me and my friends would’ve killed Arena Direct with hammers I can tell you that much
Oh no
“I’m sure these 12 commander decks will be enough to bring on this roadtrip to see the family. Just in case.” as he casually packs $20,000 of cardboard in a backpack.
My latest white whale — a Russian date-stamped prerelease Sleeper Agent from M10 (to go in Jeska/Falthis+Obosh with Xantcha). Knowing my luck finding a literal Russian Sleeper Agent will be easier.
Amazingly, this was enough to get it stuck in my head again.
Bygone Colossus is exactly the kind of weird uncommon that makes me build whole commander decks.
Still my favorite way I’ve won a game of Magic this year. (Activate Inkmoth Nexus, enchant it with Super State making it a 9/9, attack with Exalted thanks to Cathedral of War, deal 10 Infect to each opponent, and Inkmoth can’t be targeted bc of Tomik). Mono white Urborg forever!
Will Wizards ever make a Paradox Haze for End Phase shenanigans, or would it be too broken?
Got in 5 great games at last night’s playgroup. Went 2–3 with wins from Hope Estheim (lifegain mill bringing it home with Snapcaster flashing back Riot Control like a boomer) and Jeskat Obosh blanking a massive Karnstruct army w/ a well-timed Darkness. Best game ever.
Telepathy: for when you want to know exactly what will kill you in a game of Magic.
Our annual Magic playgroup Christmas get together was Friday night. We do a Commander white elephant — everyone brings two, and we pick from a bag, steal, trade, etc. and eventually try to build new decks with our winnings. I came home with Grenzo and Cabbage Merchant this year.
I hope the feedback catches up with the print schedule and we’ll eventually get an improved frame for Source Material cards, but I still don’t understand the design decision to align every rules text box to the top of the template since it inevitably creates weird negative space.
In graphic design terms, this is slavish devotion to a templated design system, at the expense of the actual content/context. Source Material frame is gonna go down as the worst looking Magic cards of all time, which is really saying something.
Adrenaline Jockey does work with Obosh. “It resolves. Take 8.”
Slowly (but surely) making bad financial decisions.
Treasure tokens feel ubiquitous in Commander, but are only eight years old (late 2017). Clues are slightly older (early 2016). Food is the newbie (late 2018). But it’s rare to play a game without someone build around one (or all) of them. Time for Leyline of Singularity to shine!
Trying to decide if I go old school or new school for a Storm count token
FBLTHIIIIIIICK
At any point, three opponents could sit down across from me with completely made up legendary creatures, and if the proxies were good enough, I wouldn’t question whether they were real cards.
Storm count is 2, connect with Storm, Force of Nature, cast Gitaxian Probe and look at everyone’s hands, draw 3. Deck is fun.
Rolled up to a friendly cEDH table with my bracket 4ish Storm deck so they let me have seat 1. Training Center » Telepathy and the groaning begins.
My toxic trait is casting into boardstate I haven’t fully thought through. (I *think* this made 35 copies of Cerulean Wisps on the stack, causing me to draw 72 cards. I had to Pyroblast my own Archmage to find a win that didn’t deck me first.)
I’ve already built a Splinter/Raphael deck, and the lands are so sad until MARCH waiting. But I might replace my beat up old gold border lands for prereleases with the goop, too.
