There is a constant barrage of information indicating to the casual observer that people who run scams and lie and refuse to play by the rules aren't just going unpunished, they're *making way more money than you are* as a result.

That Alex Jones owes the Sandy Hook families he defamed a billion dollars and has spent the last several years abusing the bankruptcy courts and visibly shovelling his assets into shell companies was deeply radicalising.

(This is not just a Trump thing, either. This started back in 2024 during the Biden administration when the FBI raided his home.)

That he fails to understand that there’s inherent politics within his own plot lines and characters is unfortunately such a common blindspot for so many “educated” people who just want to focus on their little part of the world and their interests without understanding any context or history.
