Yeah, I was so surprised too. I was pretty sure I missed something untill having a conversation with Budescu. maybe translation indeed cause misunderstandings across languages, yet no one ever tested if it has any practical impact on decisions.
Cognitive fatigue is assumed to affect moral judgment, but what about physical fatigue? Research with athletes and firefighters by Stefanczyk et al suggests it is unaffected: buff.ly/34KazhT

One thing striking is that the same post of yours has less than 10% of the attention compared to Twitter. It's hard to migrate here permanently.
Research by Milczarski et al into a potential foreign language effect on risk aversion suggests (a) there is no foreign language effect and (b) verbal probability expressions (“likely” v “70% chance”) eliminate risk aversion (!) buff.ly/N8Cvlhj

I feel a bit like this about open science. The reforms will likely lead to positive outcomes, even if we overestimate their ability to solve our problems (e.g., replication crisis)
The open science movement got us to THINK about what we're doing. That's a positive spin-off if nothing else.
Santa awarded my for Christmas with an acceptance at #Cognition. In the paper, we report that groups are mor eutilitarain becuase they focus on consequences more, but just as much as solo deciders on norms and are similarly acion averse.

The undetected reflection test prime effect on moral judgments.
Table 7 showing the CRT (a mathematical reflection test) failing to predict multiple explications of utilitarian responses to moral dilemmas.
Process dissociation revealed more consistent correlations between reflection tests and moral dilemma judgments, but did not reveal that a mathematical reflection test (CRT) predicted utilitarian judgment. Moreover, what logical reflection predicted was more utilitarian AND more deontological responses (rather than more of one and less of the other).
The general discussion (Section 5) admits that "correlations between reflective cognitive style and utilitarian judgment ...depended on how utilitarian judgment was measured and, most importantly, fluctuated depending on how cognitive style was assessed. This is in line with previous research emphasizing the instability of this relationship (Baron et al., 2015), and the fact that not all measures of cognitive style predict moral judgment in the same way (Byrd & Conway, 2019)."
