Thank you, Rep. Nadler. I celebrated when New York passed the first statewide ban on declawing. Speaking out against cruelty is always worth your time as a US representative and our time as Americans.

Google's AI can't tell the difference between a bill and a law. If a state ever had a bill introduced to ban declawing, the AI replies to a search with the text and details as if the bill passed.

With respect, declawing is still legal in New Jersey. The states with declaw bans are New York (first), Maryland, Virginia (sort of, big loophole), Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and California. The District of Columbia is sometimes listed; declawing is banned in DC, but it's not a state.
