Half of Older Adults Struggle With Sleep Why Aren’t We Talking About Cannabis?

Half of older adults struggle with sleep.

Yet many are still being prescribed sleeping medications that can cause confusion, falls, even memory problems.

So why aren’t we talking more openly about cannabis?

With drugs, is it correct to say: “all use is misuse”? Do most people end up addicted? Can there be benefits?

It’s a common idea in addiction medicine, but it doesn’t reflect reality.

Most people who use substances don’t become addicted. Some even benefit. At the same time, misuse can be devastating.

Both are true.

Measles outbreak spreads in Utah, hitting people without the vaccine What started as a small outbreak of measles along the Utah-Arizona border has spread to every corner of the Beehive State.

It is excruciating as a primary care doctor to see awful diseases, which we have successfully controlled for a century, rear back due to the idiotic, ignorant policies of the Trump Administration, especially the most brainless of all, anti-vaxxer RFJ Jr.

The Fast-Changing Chemistry of New, Dangerous Drugs Today’s illicit chemists can quickly cook up drugs far more dangerous than fentanyl.

We see the tragic effects of the "novel psychoactive molecules" in the addiction clinic I work at. It is an unregulated disaster (which, IMHO, would be better if we decriminalized drugs...).

I agree that many people are undereducated about the potential harms of #cannabis (addiction, teens, pregnancy, mental health, cardiac...). The harms can also be wildly exaggerated, which is why we need to be measured & reasonable when discussing it.
