It was great to meet with Dr. Lourdes Ramos from the Museum of Latin American Art yesterday to discuss state policy, funding and opportunities for the arts!
I’m proud to work with MOLAA and other organizations in SD 33 to support arts and cultural programs that represent our diverse communities.
Today, I welcomed arts leaders from SD 33 to the Capitol! We talked about arts-related policy including strategies for job creation, funding opportunities & more. The arts are important to the cultural fabric of Long Beach & SELA, & I’m proud to represent a community with such a vibrant arts scene.
Today, I met with Natural Resources Defense Council leaders to discuss their legislative priorities to advance climate solutions, environmental protections, and public health.
I look forward to continuing to work with NRDC to continue Calfiornia’s global leadership in climate policy!
I grew up going to the Boys & Girls Club and know firsthand the impact after school programs make in our communities. I look forward to continuing to support their work improving student outcomes!
It was incredible to meet with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro LA, and meet two Youths of the Year who are graduating seniors and have benefitted from the College Bound program at the Boys & Girls Clubs.
It was great to meet with the Long Beach Conservation Corps we today! Their incredible work provides enormous community benefits and hands-on workforce development opportunities in Senate District 33.
This bill will allow people with intellectual & developmental disabilities to have a backup representative who can step in and assist them in navigating regional center services if their support system is suddenly unable to help. This bill is one way to help reduce that fear & help families prepare.
Today, my SB 1052 passed the Senate Human Services Committee!
No one should have to worry about what will happen to their loved one with a disability if they are suddenly unable to be there - but with increased immigration enforcement, this is the reality for too many families.
SB 1146 passed the Senate Privacy, Digital Technology, and Consumer Protection Committee!
This bill will ensure that Californians are not misled by advertisements for health services or products that use AI generated audio and imagery of doctors.
