It is very difficult to work in an environment where you and your profession is under constant suspicion stoked by those who have little to no experience on the inside. This is the life of teachers and the suspicious are everywhere.

Feedback is not just feedback! It is relationship-building! This should be obvious! Hire more teachers so they/we can do our jobs properly!

As an 8th grade teacher, this is a new insult the kids have been using this year, even on things unrelated to writing.
Someone does something stupid, or ridiculous, or cruel: "Ugh, you're AI."
As the father of a middle schooler I have seen the rebellion against AI forming there — even using “that’s AI, bro,” not indicating something is literally AI, but that something is metaphorically so — it’s sus, it’s bullshit, it’s bad weird
I am horrified by the prospect of a future in which *I* have become one of the smartest people on the planet simply because I continually refused to use an obviously stupid computer program
what an incredibly short sighted abdication of your role, what a profound failure to understand the stakes here, and such a catastrophic failure of the students whose welfare should be foremost in your list of priorities.
