Walkthrough on creating custom "Mixed Feed" column in @skydeck.live
Now we're onto the last menu for creating our Mixed Feed. Here, in the "Custom title" field, you can give it whatever name you feel like. You can also select what width you'd prefer the column as well as what content you do or don't want to see. Last step is "Create Column" and you're done!
Now we're finally at the 2nd last step and there's a fair bit that you can do here. We chose to select 2 different sources and clicked on Add source twice to bring up 2 sub menus. For one, we chose a list, and the other chose a custom feed. When you're done adding however many you want, click next.
This takes you to a new menu verifying that you're creating a Mixed Feed, you simply click Next in the lower right, to get into the actual creation.
After clicking the icon, you're on the next menu to setting up a Mixed Feed. Here, you'll scroll down the list to the bottom cluster of "Advanced" options where "Mixed Feed" is located. You select that option and click on Next in the lower right corner.
Image shows the SkyDeck page with a red arrow pointing towards the plus symbol in the upper left corner.
One of the best features of SkyDeck is our Mixed Feeds. You can combine not only multiple feeds into one column, but also other sources such as Hashtags, specific account profiles and lists! In this thread, we'll walk you through how to do it. Start by clicking the plus + icon in upper left corner.

I will be moving the backend into production today. I will restore the database once docker is confirmed working, but just in case, please do this:
Settings -> Account -> Backup -> Export
Now we're in the final step in adding our new Messages column and with the recent changes, you can now also select exactly what column width you'd like, before the column gets created. Column widths now range from 250px to 600px. Click Create Column in the lower right, and you're done! 4/4
For our column creation, we chose Messages. So we select Messages and then click on Next in lower right corner to get into the last menu.๐งต3/4
The next screen that appears is now a dropdown menu to let you select what type of content you want to appear in your new column. You can scroll through to find what you're looking for, including our awesome Mixed Feeds option to combine multiple feeds in one. ๐งต2/4
Today brings some exciting updates including a re-working of the Add Columns function, so we snagged some screenshots to show you how it works now. The same icon (The plus symbol in upper left corner) is used to create new columns. Click that to begin adding a new column. ๐งต 1/4
Hello SkyDeck peeps!!!
I just redesigned the Add Column button to launch a wizard style column designer instead. Test it out and let me know if it works like it should or if the other way was better.

Only the backend server was vibe coded, because that isn't my strong area. Everything you see was all me, I found that React isn't that hard after all.
For each feed being added to a "Mixed", we typically select "Custom feed" for the first drop down option on each, then it's just a matter of selecting a different feed for each of them. And when you're done, you have a handy need combo feed! ๐
To get a good variety in your mixed feed, you can simply just keep clicking "Add Source", to accommodate however many source feeds you figure you'll want. So if you decide to combine 4 feeds into the one mixed feed, just click Add Source 4 times and add a new feed to each.
In this next menu, which is for your source, there's two drop-down submenus. The top one you should select "Custom feed" and the bottom drop-menu lets you go through your list of currently pinned feeds and select one. We chose Public Health as an example.
Now we're actually getting into the creation process and the next menu will show you various options. You can name it anything you like, for our feed example here, we're doing on on the subject of Health. Figure out a title to call this column and then you'll click on "Add Source".
So looking at the previous screencap, you can see in the upper left corner there's a little + icon. Clicking that, takes you into another menu to begin adding a new column. In the lower right corner is the option we'll be using "Mixed Feeds". Click on that to begin creating your new customized feed.
Figured on doing a post showing step-by-step instructions for one really great feature we have, "Mixed Feeds". These customizable feeds let you combine some of your existing feeds, into one. This can help reduce the number of columns you need on Skydeck while not losing anything!
Happy Monday #Bluesky!
Looking for volunteer testers willing to give SkyDeck Live a good run and help me compile a list of:
- What's not working
- What's missing
- What's not working even though I said it was
- Bugs
Bugs will be squashed. All else will be saved for Version 2.
Thank-you,
Jeff
6 months in the making - I have implemented an exhaustive list of features. Too many to list here, so I made sure the README was elaborate.

Hello #Bluesky!!
I just released SkyDeck Live - my new multi-column (deck styled) Bluesky client for the web. Limited mobile browsers supported. The code is open source, though I'm the only dev.
Still in Beta (expect random refreshes)
Come check everything out here: https://skydeck.live
