ISER welcomes the Cabinet’s landmark decision to expand SAGE eligibility age from 80yrs to 65yrs, and to increase the transfer value from UGX 25,000 to UGX 35,000. This is a step toward aligning with Uganda’s National Social Protection Policy, which defines an older person as 60 years and above.
Our ED, Angella K. Nabwowe, is in Maseru Lesotho for a conference & launch of a study on the level of child rights mainstreaming in Nation Action Plans (NAPs) on Business and Human Rights; convened by Institute for Human Rights and Development in Africa (IHRDA).
