dem Band insgesamt das nahezu perfekte Goscinny-Erlebnis beschert. Insgesamt ein wirklich gelungenes Album rund um Korruption, Klüngel und melancholischer Lebenseinstellung (die Asterix' nicht-dicke Begleitung auf seine ganz eigene Art zu interpretieren vermag).
Es ist ein Fest!

Ein Highlight sind auch wieder die zahlreichen neuen Namen wie Schnurres, Fetterbonus, Schãoprozes und Mandarfjanix nebst Gattin Flottebine. Da muss man auch die Übersetzung loben, die mit ihren zahlreichen Wortspielen reichlich punkten kann und

Dazu Neuerungen wie Asterix' wiederholt seliges Gesicht, wenn Obelix wieder einen unbedarften Spruch raushaut und sein sonstiges Umfeld irritiert. Auch wurde - endlich - Baba an die Moderne angepasst und von seiner klischeehaften Darstellung befreit.

Das fängt schon beim wundervoll stimmigen Titelbild an, das den eher lustlos-routinierten Vorgängermotiven weit voraus ist. Auch löst er sich noch mal ein Stück von Uderzos Korsett, lässt u.a. Einflüsse von Pierre Seron und Zep durchscheinen.

Er kann. Gleich auf Seite 1 laut gelacht. Auf Seite 2 direkt wieder. Oder auf Seite 4. Und so zieht sich das durch den gesamten Band. Dazwischen immer wieder gekichert, zurückgeblättert und das wohlige, vertraute Gefühl genossen.
Auch Conrad hat sich bei den Zeichnungen erneut gesteigert.

Daher sind die Erwartungen dieses Mal vermutlich besonders groß. Bleibt es bei einer Eintagsfliege, einer Anomalie oder kann er den Galliern wieder nachhaltig zu wirklich gelungenen Abenteuern verhelfen? Nach Lektüre des heute erschienenen Bandes steht für uns fest:

Aber ja: Weder Uderzos Alleingänge noch das Nachfolger-Team Ferri/Conrad konnten selten WIRKLICH überzeugen. Bis dann Fabcaro mit Band 40 seinen Einstand als neuer Autor gab - und frenetisch gefeiert wurde (außer natürlich von Goscinny-Puristen, denen man es niemals je wieder Recht machen kann).

Drei teilweise sichtbare Softcover-Album und ein Ausschnitt aus einer Seite des neuen Asterix-Albums.

Kaum sind 2 Jahre vorbei - schon steht der neue Asterix vor der Tür - und seit 1979 (oder allerspätestens 1991) hört man immer die gleiche Leier: "Asterix ist einfach nicht mehr gut". Gekauft wird er trotzdem und bleibt der wohl mit Abstand erfolgreichste westliche Comic.

Ein Hinkelstein aus Plastik mit einem Werbebanner für den neuen Asterix-Band, der am 23.10. erscheint. Darunter sieht man zwei Vorgängerbände.
