You're right. And also, we knew we were virtually safe anyway, this was the least winnable of our final three games, so I'm not that concerned by such a heavy defeat.

Don't care about being thrashed by the now champions as we're officially staying up #Pompey
Thank you Wrexham.
Also looks like West Brom might be able to survive, even with a points deduction.
πππ
Bursik can go up front. See if all this time we had a great striker on the bench.
If survival is confirmed tonight, then I'd love to see Bursik play the final two games. Give him another chance in goal #Pompey
A Reform candidate who tells the truth? Sound the alarm!
I wouldn't mind if he was a 17/18/19 year old who's been released by a Premier League club, but he's 23 and seemingly can't make it in leagues worse than the Championship. This would be a really underwhelming signing.
Oh Arsenal. Not sure what Arteta was thinking bringing on Gyokeres with 5 mins left.
I would've been bringing him on almost as soon as Haaland restored City's lead. He might not be the most prolific, but give him more time to get into the game and he may have produced something.
I think you're right that the delays are probably down to confirming our status.
There's no way we'd be negotiating a new deal for players in the Championship if we were on the verge of going down.
I'm of the generation who will probably working until my mid-70s and might not have a state pension. I fear it'll be worse for those joining the workforce now.
But the more I learn about Thatcher the more I discover that her policies may have been short term gains, but they've crippled us long term
My MP ladies and gentlemen...
Honestly, I want a by-election to try and get rid of this odious politician.
Personally I think the rate pensions increase should only be tied to the average increase in salary, that way we feel like we're all in this together.
We'd all be hit by spikes in inflation & it'd be nice to have the pensioners hoping that we get salary increases, as that increases their pensions.
If I were at the club, I'd be in Devlin's ear saying "Wrexham don't seem to value you very highly if they're only willing to pay that with the millions they have."
The financial doping fairytale continues.
I'd be surprised if it's that low, mainly because that's what we got for Lang from Preston and he 6 months plus the option of an additional year left on his deal and was injured.
Devlin has 2 years left, greater potential, arguably a more important player to us and we have no need to sell.
I'd like to see us start spending the odd Β£2m on players, not regularly yet, but maybe just on a couple where we really need it, like a striker.
Or alternatively, scour the free transfer market and maybe be more willing to offer higher wages to get better calibre free signings in.
Absolutely agree, that sort of money could be reinvested to really strengthen our side.
Definitely need a new left back, I think Farrell's time is probably up and I'd like one with more pace as an alternative to Ogilvie.
I wasn't at the game unfortunately, but I'd like to think he got a warm reception.
He was an unfortunate victim of our Premier League administration.
A Premier League winner and one of our own.
Now that we're on the cusp of safety, it might be time to look at expiring contracts.
Swanson - keep
Pack - keep
Dozzell - keep
Ogilvie - keep
Swan - keep
Archer - release.
Keep Swanson and I'll be content to sell Devlin (for the right price) as I trust both Swanson and Williams #Pompey
By put things right, does he mean he'll pay that tax, stop avoiding paying any other tax and do the decent thing and resign?
I doubt it somehow.
If I had to pick between him, Farage or Badenoch, he'd win that easily.
And even though I wouldn't vote for him out of all the options, he's still being given a lot of undeserved hate.
Tbf it's only because my boss is a Leicester fan and I like him. He was relieved he wasn't there today.
I can't believe how many of these players have played in the Premier League.
Excellent result for Portsmouth, virtually safe now. I think one point will secure it as I cannot see Oxford winning all three of their remaining games.
Shouldn't have been a goal, but I'd say we've been on our fair share of bad decisions to finally get one go our way.
#Pompey
I did wonder about that, but I wasn't sure if we were even in the same division when he was there. Unless there were any cup games.
When was the last time Begovic played at Fratton Park? #Pompey
I agree with Nigel that I expect a political earthquake in next month's elections, but I'm looking more at the Greens for that.
I'm hoping enough people see Farage and Reform for who they really are.
I don't trust us to win 3 in a row π
But my attitude to this game hinges on Oxford's result. If they win, I'll be annoyed if we don't, if they lose, I'll be content with a draw. Any result that gets us further away from them is good.
Maybe she should work harder or get a better paying job?
This is what I hate about the current narrative. Poor people are told to make cut backs in their own lives, while we're told it's not fair for rich people to sell their additional properties and company shares. Fuck them.
Dyson, JCB and Ineos.
I don't want to see Ineos products in supermarkets until Sir Jim Ratcliffe stops avoiding taxes and stops asking for government grants for failing parts of his business.
That's fair enough. Would you send Kirk and Waddingham out on loan?
