Yup. Serves no other purpose beyond making them hideously dangerous to have on the road.

An "accident" like this should be grounds for an immediate license revocation, seizure then sale of the negligent vehicle to cover the costs inflicted on the person receiving the galling act of neglect, and mandatory driver's ed through a full learner's period before a retest is even permitted.

There was at one point in time a bottle of "Emergency Tequila" in the lunchroom freezer.

If I wanted to be on Instagram, I'd be on Instagram. For some reason I don't have an Instagram account.

Am I being too subtle here along with, by the look of it, most of your userbase?

At least if you read tea leaves, you probably had a nice cup of tea beforehand.

Nah, some i9-based thing that very clearly was marketed to the Macbook crowd. Slim, svelte, and a mess to attempt any user service of.

Lacing the speaker channel wires through the battery, like, spiraling through clips on the underside of the battery, was a... decision. Liquor may've been a factor.

Though the decision to put the memory on the keyboard side of the mainboard so you have to remove the entire mainboard to swap RAM is... also *a choice*, and I don't think that was a good one there, Lenny-vos.

Yeah, I feel like making the one part of the device that routinely gets munged up in ordinary conditions the hardest to repair was a poor call, maybe?

It is, no joke, easier to replace the entire mainboard or the permanently installed battery than to replace the keyboard assembly.

Lenovo, where did you lose the plot so badly?

Extra bonus: the battery with speaker wire literally laced through it has several screws affixing it and they're all either a millimeter shorter, or a millimeter longer than each other.

The fun of modern laptops:
Handed one to keyboard swap.
Doing so requires disassembly of all bezels, removing all M2 HDDs, the speakers, the cooling assembly, finger ID sensor, the battery, wireless module, mainboard and the LCD itself.

Also, the speakers are literally laced through the battery

There's a certain kind of salty fossil that just cannot stand the idea of a bicycle existing as anything more than a leisure toy, and boy howdy if you ever want to know how much of a stick he's got betwixt wizened cheeks, just existing as a commuter cyclist around him will get the vinegar flowing

That list is functionally already a counter-list; it's populated with people who subscribed to anti-AI blocklists, which is... "no uuu!!!" levels of AI bro cope weenie-hutting.

Renny, if you can see your muscles through the skin and identify the tissue color, you might've sent it a little too hard. :3

Furry Bsky having a very normal one again? I... literally cannot even tell what this issue is, and the irony of an unskinned account with key-mash for a name going on about "burners" could reinforce concrete.

Think it's pretty clear the drugs won the war on drugs by how cooked entire generations of execs seem to be.

What cocaine fueled media executive wrote this shit?

"kids today just aren't consuming cocaine like they used to" is an incredibly weird fucking take for a news article.

It's definitely weedy day in Vancouver. Everything smells like skunkfarts and I've had to gesturally explain stop signs to three motorists now.

I am on the road. This makes me a vehicle. You do not yield stop signs to me, this almost causes an accident when the perpendicular gets impatient with you
