It's only closed to "friends" of the US, not China, India and others. Trump thinks by closing the strait fully he can put pressure on Iran to come back to the negotiation table, only time will tell but if China decides to escort it's tankers through the strait for example Trump will TACO.

Westminster's permachaos is not a reason against Scotland holding an independence referendum, it's a reason why Scottish independence is absolutely neccessary. Wes Streeting's argument about UK chaos boils down to - We have shat in the bed, and you're going to lie in it.
