👨👩👧 Authoritarian populists are pushing a 'family in crisis' narrative. @basakakkan.bsky.social & Tuğçe Erçetin argue that ‘familyism’ ideology underpins pronatalist care politics aimed at restoring the patriarchal sexual contract.

It's out! So glad to see this article finally published with an amazing team of co-authors.
➡️How can we comprehend current "anti-gender" politics by looking at the histories shaping European democracies?
➡️Does the concept of anti-gender best reflect the current socio-political regressive context?
Lean y compartan.👇🏼

If you need radical comfort in times of structural stress, read Mark Fisher's"The Privatisation of Stress" to validate your rage towards a system that encourages you to look for individualised capitalist-supporting mechanisms of "resilience" to endure exploitation - meditation, yoga- list goes on...

Check out this article on how ppl facing oppression enhance one another's agency, & how this can repair their own internalized oppression. I love how the author develops Qrescent Mali Mason's concept of "intersectional ambiguity" which we should cite more

"Cisness brutalizes us all. The border guards of sex are the enemies of human liberation, and we fight them best by refusing to debate the fairness, let alone the accuracy, of their borders in the first place."
