I’m saying behaviors men see as matter of course are manipulative. That’s different.

Obviously that is the real truth here.

It can’t be that you engaged in predatory behavior, because that would make you Not Good. That opens you up to punishment. And it’s so much easier to make it women’s fault.

And instead of sitting with it, men pivot.

So we have men listening to men about how to get women to sleep with them, and those tactics usually include ones that violate enthusiastic consent, at the very least.

And when a woman says, “hey that was rape”, it isn’t a stretch to imagine that man would count that as a false accusation.

I feel like there is a space we’re not tackling between what men consider a false accusation and what actually is a false accusation.

Because, as now several studies have shown, men will admit to actions that qualify as rape or sexual assault as long as those actions aren’t labeled as such.

The only reason to announce a total victory before reaching a signed deal is to manipulate the markets for profit taking.

Time for Mamdani and Obama to go to a baseball game with the Pope. Let’s just blow this whole thing wide open.

All it does when men do this is show how far removed they are from the initial visceral reaction to women being drugged and raped by their partners in their own homes, while the chorus of “not all men” echo around to add to the horror.

And you know what? Accuracy is important. It is important to note views versus individuals, to note those views are to the website and not to this specific section. Those are important matters to discuss. But not when the wound is gaping and untreated.

This has been an album that came out when I was 1 and that my parents played a lot in my childhood. It’s still one of my favorite albums to return to, like a warm blanket of sound.
