Minimalist sketch done in black colored pencil of a chunky kitty with a cranky or displeased facial expression.
The original art i imitated as drawing practice. The style is identical only this cat looks more danty and fluffy than fat. And she also has a more neutral to pleasant expression on her face. She's fine with the treat situation.
Right is a fluffy danty queen by the original artist Shou Xin.
Left is my chonky guy recreation. He is displeased with the treat situation!

Black color pencil sketch of a black cat laying on it's left side with 4 leggies sticking out. The cat is looking up over it's shoulder so you can see his face.
Made this minimalist cat for a dear dear friend's birthday coming up! Inspired by and styled after artist Shou Xin's minimalist cat series.

I sometimes despair that the camera can never really capture just how amazing the natural world can be. But sometimes, just sometimes, the winter light hits those reeds and all those reflections pop... #birds #birdphotography #birding #photooftheday #photography #NatureIsAmazing

Minimalist drawing of a black cat going zoom. The use of watercolor pencil allowed for me to use water to create motion blur.
The original art piece by Shou Xin used as inspiration. The artist uses graphite pencil to create incredibly minimalist art of cats. It's best described as an incredibly controlled and precise scribble sketch.
Played around with a #watercolor pencil. Made a piece, once again, inspired by the minimalist cat drawings of Shou Xin who makes incredible art! Mine on the left theirs (have zero bio info) on the right!

No because I've had many colonoscopies and they are basically fine and a great nap. Reading the news in far worse. There is no logical comparison.

One of my favorite pacific sunsets I’ve witnessed. Sky just kept getting crazier and crazier and it really did feel like I won something.

I never know whether to call a work in pastel a painting or a drawing. I suppose it's a painting if it has broad areas of colour and a drawing if it is mainly linear (I tend to use Conté sticks for line work). I have used pastel since I was a child so that's a long time!
Just one more pastel flower painting for now. A carnation and freesia painting with a couple of anenomes and some ivy plus a shell that has been in several artworks. This one dates from the millenium and is on someone else's wall. See alt txt.

A garden pastel showing items hanging from a lilac tree
Garden pastel with lilac tree, a wooden painted sun with a face, a metal candle lamp and petunias in a hanging basket. I do like setting up an easel and just drawing or painting what's in front of me. It takes on a life of its own.

This lady is a good subject for a drawing and I've done several portraits of her (just informally: I no longer do commissions.
Pastel of M who popped round one day and was persuaded to sit for a portrait. I used to draw people all the time but the world closed up somewhat during and after the pandemic. I draw quickly.

Abstract watercolor painting of a very colorful sunset. Different shades of purple near the top into blues, which are the sky, then a line of yellow for the golden sun filling the horizon. A little golden yellow oil pastel is used hete in the center to represent the sun itself with a bold brightness i can't yet pull off with watercolors. Then below the yellow is orange. There is a spot or orange top near the left corner in with the purples. And where the yellow and blue meet color theory proves true i made green. Opps. But it kinda works. There are clear lines but they are blurred best i could, not well defined nor straight. These lines are very gay.
Painted a #sunset with #watercolor and a touch of a golden #oilpastel with a job paint couldn't achieve. I was mostly playing with my first sample a friend sent me of cotton coldpress, which i love, and some different brushes and techniques. Still, for being experimental i love this piece! #abstract

A view of the majestic Grand Tetons from the Snake River overlook. The jagged mountains are glowing pink from a sunrise. I got my ass up 4 days in a row at 0 dark:30 for this pic and am still not pleased there were no clouds in the sky. Other days there was nothing but clouds obscuring the view.
The best thing about getting up that early in a national park is all the wildlife you see at that time of day. That was magical for 4 days.
This park is overshadowed by Yellowstone which is a mere hour north, but I personally enjoyed it far more. Floated down the Snake River one day and that was simply glorious.

Silhouette of a surfer carrying a surfboard along wet sand at low tide, with a long pier stretching across the horizon. A dense red cloud layer fills most of the sky, breaking into blue near the right edge, while orange light glows near the horizon and reflects in the shallow water.
