Thank you; I could hear a vague hum when I was there but I think that the wind was in the wrong direction on order to get the full effect.

It would have been nice to hear it singing, but the view was more than worth it so no, I wasn't disappointed.

I suspect that it is more about the wind direction than the speed. It was very breezy when we went, but apart from one gust, there was very little sound.

It certainly is! I've been meaning to go for a while (it's in the middle of nowhere) and finally made the trip when the sun was shining. Disappointed that it wasn't 'singing' despite it being a windy day though.

True; that is usually my first thought too. As a photographer I hope that I can spot an AI image but it is getting harder to do so.

Academic publishing has always been a minefield. The old model was free to authors but libraries had to pay subscriptions to the journal or readers paid for access. Now there are more Open Access journals which are free to read for all, but charge authors (often >£1k) to publish.

Face pareidolia is the term for recognising faces in inanimate objects. It is thought to have evolved to aid social interaction and survival by rapidly processing facial features. It is quite normal, but more pronounced in those with Parkinson's or OCD.

Or I could just be weird and seeing things!

I am a retired academic, albeit for only just over a year, and I don't know anyone in my department who would use AI for anything other than analysing big data sets or pattern recognition. I certainly wouldn't use AI to write a paper. Indeed we trained PhD students in the ethical use of AI.

Sad news; a great loss to the rock and metal scene.

I don't understand why this term is used, especially by bands with a female vocalist. Is it supposed to be a warning to the misogynists? You either like a band's music or you don't. The front person's gender is irrelevant.
